There is a known problem with logging in with Firefox.

If SM is using Firefox, suggest he try Chrome, Vivaldi, or MS Edge.

In the meantime, I'll see what I can do.

Sorry about this, SM.

Re: Technical Issues and Problems

CS here. Sorry about the log-in inconvenience. What forum time I have has recently been spent trying to solve an upgrade problem. Unfortunately the phpBB support forum has proven to be less than useless. However, I think I've located the source of the problem. Is anyone [noddy?] familiar with SQL, ...

Request to Posters: flagging potentially offensive posts

As there are quite a number of threads now, it's a bit difficult for the mods to monitor all of them. So some assistance from the community of posters is kindly requested. At the top right side of each post are a set of buttons: [Edit] [Delete] [Report] . . . [Quote] If posters encounter a post they...

1st and last admonition

The petty name calling in this thread has gotten out of hand. Yes, I know who started it, but I would simply ask that everyone stop continuing with it. Indonesia is a very interesting topic and the personal histrionics diminishes this thread. Ideally, posters would take it upon themselves to clean a...

Indeed. However, we did lack a Latin America thread.

If the posts here persist in being only Iran related, they will be moved to the Iran thread.

Interesting topic moved from a superfluous biomed thread. . Compared with the real cadavers in the lab next door, the virtual one seemed as dynamic as Imax . . . a group of students wearing 3-D glasses made by Nvidia, a graphics processing firm, dissected a virtual cadaver projected on a screen. Usi...

Re: Suggestions

I suggest we be made able to nest more than three quotes. Though I don't like deep nesting of quotes, I have run into the three barrier twice already in the course of fairly routine quoted replies. It seems too low. I don't know what a good limit would be, perhaps five or six? Good point. The quote...

Re: Occupy the Globe

I'm no fan of our elite overlords but I think the Occupy movement has mostly itself to blame for this. They haven't even generated any ideas yet! Every now and then I still see self-proclaimed Occupy emissaries invited to talk about the "working groups" they're involved with and which the...
