Re: Grantland offends designated victim group of 2014

It's only risky to be derisive of other people's identities really. You ought to know that's not the case. 1) There is a growing body of "controversial" topics in America, about which it is impossible to speak in public without an extreme degree of caution, for fear of having one's career...

Re: Best American students far behind their foreign peers

If you look specifically at Maths achievment, and do pairs study matching for income and other variables (which I did) you'll see that even rich-as-Crassus US counties severely lag in Maths their peers in many parts abroad. US maths education is too undemanding, probably because badly educated math...

Re: Best American students far behind their foreign peers

I have no doubt that America is dumbing down and that the school system needs to be tweaked. But let's not exaggerate the failure of public education here. The article claims that Americans are lagging behind on two leading international tests, but only named one of them, the most recent PISA (2012)...

Not really. For example, my ideological sympathies notwithstanding, I think Ibrahim should be perfectly free to spout his nonsense from the rooftops, whereas I would most likely object to the sight of a nude Tea Partier.

I’m not speaking to Ibrahim anymore since he refuses to apologize for his craven smear against me. People who do such things are beyond the pale of civilized discourse and simply must be ignored. Well put. The main issue with secrecy and government intrusion in private lives in the US is that it is open ended at this point. I think it's fair to say that both countries have their issues with freedom of speech and of the press. YMix, Indeed. The blogger Steve Sailer (whom Ibrahim calls his favorite racist movie critic) has been documenting this for a long time. This is another fault line in the conservative movement in America: between the globalist, open-borders, free-trade, free-market-is-always-right crowd - allied with...
