Maybe, maybe not.

I think it is quite true that what turns out news worthy can be triggered by our biological alarms, or just when it is perceived as out of the ordinary and shocking enough. A mother who would kill, chop to pieces, frie and eat her own baby is in no statistical way a threat to a large number of people but the fact would likely be a headline in the newspaper.

Freakshows and "miracles" are always popular. But it can go beyond mere fascination. One madman, or even just mad ideas can put loads of people under their spell; fascination then develops into a mass hypnosis and feed into a new tradition where the same fear mongering plays an important role to keep the tradition on course in defense of outside evil and threats of all kinds. The irrational fear for Muslim immigration is the same irrational fear within Islam for its own enemies; from beliefs, ideas and people that do not conform... to those that directly and intentionally oppose it.

Fear just recognizes fear in others; people then start to fear and feed each others paranoia. When two individuals get paranoid about each other one or two people might get killed; when groups get paranoid about each other.. things could get very nasty. Enuf examples of that in history. One madman can play those mechanisms and ignite a world war. Hitler thusfar was the most succesful. Trump also plays it kiddy style.. and people start buying it. But he is no full fledged psychopath and the average American not desperate enough.

The question needs an honest investigation; why are people afraid of Muslim immigration? Is it just their own paranoia, their own leaders and media using it opportunistically? I think that is way too easy. Reality is more complex.
Deep down I'm very superficial

NYT

Doubts About Saudi Arabia’s Antiterrorism
Saudi Arabia not serious to fight Isis.

In fact, it is hard to see Saudi Arabia, a Sunni-led state, as a serious partner against the Islamic State unless it stops financing the Wahhabi religious schools and clerics that are spreading the kind of extremist doctrine that is at the heart of the Islamic State’s ideology. Although the Islamic State has pledged to destroy Saudi Arabia, Saudi leaders have so far been more concerned with opposing Shia-led Iran, which they consider their greatest adversary.

"The visa waiver thing is absurd," Zarif told The New Yorker in an interview published Friday.

..

"Has anybody in the West been targeted by any Iranian national, anybody of Iranian origin, or anyone traveling to Iran ?" Zarif asked.

"Whereas many people have been targeted by the nationals of your allies, people visiting your allies, and people transiting the territory of, again, your allies. So you’re looking at the wrong address."

Zarif mentioned the 9/11 attacks, as well as the recent San Bernardino and Paris attacks. His remarks were veiled references to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, whose citizens have been implicated in those and other lethal strikes. Neither nation is singled out in the new visa law.

Despite Kerry's letter, the National Iranian American Council remained wary of the visa law. "It remains unclear how these steps will ensure that dual citizens are not discriminated against solely on the basis of their nationality," the group said Sunday.

Should Mark Zuckerburg face war crime charges? Whatsapp which is owned by facebook (facebook being controlled by Zuckerburg ) apparently has become the main enabler for the ISIS virtual slave market.
http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7078/ ... 0w.twitter
The German TV channels NDR and SWR declared on their website:

"IS [Islamic State] offers women and underage children in a kind of virtual slave market with for-sale photos. ... The transfer of money, as the reporter discovered, takes place through a liaison office in Turkey. ...

"For weeks, NDR and SWR accompanied a Yazidi negotiator, who, on behalf of the families, negotiates with the IS for the release of the slaves and their children. ... the women are sold in a digital slave market to the highest bidder. 15,000 to 20,000 US dollars are a typical price. Similar sums for ransom are also required to free Yazidis. The money is then transferred via IS-liaison offices and middlemen to the terrorist group.

"NDR and SWR were present at the liberation of a woman and her three small children, aged between two and four years old, and followed the negotiations. How many Yazidi slaves are still 'owned' by IS is unclear. Experts estimate that there still could be hundreds."

The negotiator told NDR and SWR that in the course of a year, he transferred more than USD $2.5 million to ISIS from the families of 250 Yazidi women and children, in order to free them.

He also said that to advertise the slaves, ISIS assigns numbers to the female and child slaves, and posts their photographs on the WhatsApp Messenger smartphone app.[1]

not what i said at all. What i said is that sex slave trade of women and children is being enabled by whatsapp. Why is Zuckerburg allowing that to happen?
