ISIS, ISIL or actually DA’ESH, and its self-appointed associates have been hitting Western European targets as of late, killing some half-dozen Jewish people among others.
The terrorist group is also responsible for the decapitation of journalists and innocent aid workers, as well as the wholesale massacre of thousands of Moslems and non- Moslems, including several dozen Christians.
It is interesting that the recent killing of a handful of Jews in Paris and Copenhagen has been receiving far more coverage by the Western media than the massacre of tens of thousands of non-Jewish victims in the hands of these terror gangs. I am avoiding referring to the DA’ESH as the Islamic State, since they are neither a state, nor Islamic in their ideology or practices.
Some questions arise with regard to the latest developments.
1-Why do the Western media insist on calling these outlaw terror gangs as Islamic this or that? Is it just because that is how this movement refers to itself, or is it some insidious way of demonizing Islam? Why not simply refer to them as the “so-called Islamic State”?
2-Is there some specific reason why Jews and synagogues are targeted by these terrorists in Western countries; why not Hindus or Buddhists? According to old Islamic tenets, Jews and Christians are regarded as among the people of the “Book” and not as infidels, unlike the Buddhists, for example!
3-When the Israeli Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu, offers safe haven and invites the European Jews to immigrate to Israel, where does he plan to house the hundreds of thousands or millions of potential newcomers ? Does he have in mind leveling thousands more Palestinian villages and homes and take over more territory to make room for them; and with what budget and from where, pray tell?
4-When the ONLY boots on the ground fighting DA’ESH with significant success are the Iranian forces and Iran-backed Iraqi and Kurdish troops, as well as the Iranian supported Hezbollah and, again, Iranian backed Syrian armed forces, why don’t we hear about their successes in pushing back the terrorist gangs and liberating villages, towns and large chunks of territory?
5-A more fundamental question: What was it about the government of Bashar Assad that triggered America’s response in attempting to topple his regime by encouraging and supporting opposition groups (sort of like Ukraine!), and bold, as well as totally illegal, pronouncements that Assad must go?! And, what threat does Iran pose to the security of the United States or the region as a whole to be regarded as an enemy state?
6-Are Israel’s interests and agendas so important to the United States that American media, the Congress, and the sources of money and influence regard them worthy of superseding America’s own strategic global interests?
7-Is it just a coincidence that as the Obama administration and the Iranian negotiators are looking forward to resolving the issue of Iran’s nuclear programs and the economic sanctions, the Israeli PM, Netanyahu, is invited by the Republicans to address the joint chambers of the House and the Senate in a clear attempt to torpedo the Administration’s progress?
8-Is it another coincidence that Mr. Hector Timerman, Argentina’s Foreign Minister, and who just happens to be Jewish, has officially asked the United States State Department at this time to include the issue of terrorist bombing against the Jewish center in Buenos Aires twenty years ago in negotiations with Iran over the Iranian nuclear programs?
9-Wouldn’t it be nice if all the members of the House and Senate were required by law to pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States once each year during the annual State of the Union Address by the President?
