SM,

Yes, emotivism is an individualist philosophy and grounded in a sense of self.

Alex.

PS - That's a nice red and blue, but missing the white?

Jokes on you- mass has no effect on gravity, we proved it in the conspiracy thread. :)

Copernicus, Galileo, Manolo...... the lowest common denominator absorbs and assimilates all superior intellects for the common good.....

we're kinda like the Borg in that aspect......

sorry Bro, nothing personal, we sucked out your brain for the children....... ;) it tasted like chicken........

rather than being "selfish" and pining for what you have lost, you should rejoice for what others have gained. :D

SM,

I've looked at this post twice and there seems to be an extra line now? Can't remember the chicken before.

Alex,

That was an after thought. rather than my usual stream of consciousness babble.

on the plus side, more people will appreciate you and the Colonel, than appreciate Copernicus and Galileo.

There's an up side to all self-sacrifice!

Actually, rather than stooping to bantering, I thought you were doing the old "The man of superior intellect speaks at the lowest level of his audience so that they may think themselves as intelligent as he" bit.

Works for me! cheers ;)

Can you imagine. A Socialist as the nominee for the Democrat Party. Unbelievable. Who would have thought.

Mr P,

I wouldn't. However, there has been a recent move in the politics of Spain, Greece, Britain and the USA towards a clear message from the left. My own view is that this move is a moral protest from those with the guts to voice it, and may well remain as only protest politics. This is not to say that clear messages from the borders of political thought are a bad idea. The American 'Tea Party' was one such grouping and those voices have been influential to some extent in the wider debates.

Many pundits have been calling this phenomena 'refreshing', and it does challenge the conventional wisdom that democratic governments are decided on the middle ground. However, these are early days to be predicting a sea change in the politics, what you called in another thread - 'trajectory'.

I remember when calling someone "an angry white man" was considered an insult, rather than great qualifications to be POTUS.

Bernie scores 2.5/3.0 on the Angry White Man scale, Hilary only gets 2.0/3.0.

No-brainer.

Folks,

From what I've heard, Bernie is right on just about every issue. But he will never be president.
