The eternal US elections - 2016 edition

Forget his hotels and the casino business...everyone is looking in the wrong places.

It's his golf club holdings, his other real estate that shows how much of a failure he is.

All his predictions over the years have been failures. Remember when he kept whining about how Japan was going to eat our lunch? That worked out real well.

How about his entertainment business? Trump board game? failure. Trump action figure? Failure.

Heck, if I were running another campaign right now, I'd scruntize those Macy numbers about the 4% drop in their stocks. I'd bet you it's not Trump related, or marginally so.

Even that business learning program he supported- the one which taught that there are '4 kinds of people': those who want to win, want to be right want to be liked want to be left alone- that was a terrible failure.

It's a shame he keeps privately supporting all of these utter losers.

Marrying that loser Marla Maples should be added to the list.

No, your spidey sense let through the worst President of all time and it's about to let in his competitor for that spot back to back. Your spidey sense SUCKS.

Again, if I were running an opposition campaign, I'd double down on how much his father didn't love him, just to get under his skin.

No, all this is BS. You can't be honest about your opposition to him. But I know what your real objections are and they aren't good.

And no, no one has touched on any of this stuff because the people who run campaigns are mostly incompetents who have a lot of condescension for their audience.

So all their "hits" have been beating around the bush and either attacking his rich guy character or treading very lightly on his character and business issues.

the first graph shows that many of these independants are libertarian and this 'fixes' the republican decline, but then we just end up back at the 45/55 wobble that 2 party politics always seems to generate.

Good work noddy, it's refreshing to see a functioning curious questioning mind.

So the next step in the process is to understand the independents CALL themselves independent, but in reality they vote for the one of the 2 parties.

Historically there have been more Democrats than Republicans as your graphs illustrated but we have attained majority and supermajority status based on the fact that independents skew GOP AND more Democrats than Republicans cross aisles in the voting booth.

These two trends mean that if the GOP achieves parity with Democrats as it appears is happening the Democrats are finished.

The problem is that the Clintons are the real opponents, so obviously they won't be bringing up personal lives.

Tell me what I really think then. I'm all ears.

In time. It would be more healthy for you to realize it and verbalize it of your own accord. We'll see where it goes.

No, the problem is that either the hits are substance-less or too far in the weeds for the public. Nobody in the world is going to do a hit on the golf course business. I can see the channels flipping already. I watched the GOP try to sell Whitewater for 4 years and not even the reporters could figure it out before covering it up.

The Clintons have a worse record of failure, even in Real Estate where their failure record is 100%, and you haven't said a word about it. So no, back to the drawing board. These are not your real objections.

They are saving it, you watch. She is living on the conceit that she has the high road because that posture polls well with the sort of Democrats paying attention to the race right now.

Can Hillary, and an old Bill, pull it off when necessary? I don't know about that.

But that has more to do with their exhaustiveness than it does with their technique. Someone will pull the trigger here before the election.

I have your interests at heart Napster.

About the Clinton's failures...I've nothing to say about them because they are all out there. I have a very hard time imagining a world where another Clinton or Bush wins office. I don't even think Hillary will make it to the end of the race here.

Warren and Biden are stirring.

not really, the first graph i posted took this into account by lumping the independants with their main party.

their are also greenies hidden in the independants who vote democrat, it ends up 45/55 through to 49/51, as it always has.

you are right that more independants vote republican than democrat but it only evens things out.

No, if that were true the GOP would never be the majority party, and we've attained that status in 1994 through 2006, and regained in 20010-2014. That wouldn't be possible with the Gallup chart as you have explained it.

No, independents skew GOP and Democrats are more likely to cross the aisle. If we achieve parity they are finished.

maybe.

gerrymandering and swing voters are also possible explanations.

independents skew GOP correct and this is stated by the graphs because the primary party graph has the GOP a long way behind the democrats but the 2 party graph has them neck and neck

Democrats are more likely to cross the aisle this helps for the 49/51 but doesn read as 'omg total destruction' to my mind.

Gerrymandering doesn't effect Senate Seats or Governorships or the Electoral College or many state legislators. "Gerrymandering" explaining away catastrophic Democrat losses is a falsehood told by lo info liberals like Bill Maher and John Stewart.

Swing voters swing, but they've been swinging my way lately.

Trust me, I know what I'm doing.

what also should be taken into account is that voter turnout and party identification are two different things.

Parity for the GOP = Democrat death because:

1) We start at 50-50
2) We get more indies than they do
3) More Dems cross the aisle in the ballot booth

Result = GOP supermajority forever which is already happening.

The Democrats are like the Tories in Britain (and I'm sure there are other equivalents around the globe)

They have so many cogs in the machine, they will never ever disappear as long as the machine keeps going, even if the flipped on policy overnight.

its a 2 party system, even if the current democrat factions get kicked to the kerb for a cycle or 2 (omg 45%) it will rebuild again with different factions.

thats how 2 party systems work, total destruction just means certain factions get destroyed, not the party itself.

im not sure the death of the clinton/old guard democrats and the rise of the government funded greeny socialists (warren, berny) is that much to cheer about, the wet left aint going anywhere.

Nope, they are goners. This election should be it for them.

8 years ago they ran on obama as the greatest man of all time. Now he is the worst President in history in the polls. He presided over the worst political collapse in our history probably. And should the Democrats lose the party will be completely leaderless.

The Democrats only exist because of the media. So the media is going to go into a Soviet Union mode. When an institution cognates it's failure the institution dies. The left press will have nothing to sell. No product. No legislative body to get behind. No ability to produce bills. No leaders. None. Not a single national leader. When the media realizes they have no product, no customer for liberalism the media will fold. How do you commit your life to selling a product nobody ends up buying. You dont. Liberals in the media will move on to other things, like Tinker has done once he was defeated. The left wing MSM will finally die.

Superminority status means the money dries up from the moderates. No reason to pay off people who you don't need. When the money dries up you lose all the back bencher elections by attrition and you are in the death spiral. There will be a hard core floor of about 10-20% of the electorate and will be irrelevant outside a handful of remaining states for a decade or two. Then those will go.

No, we hit peak leftism in 2009 and are returning to the long term Reagan trajectory. I like it.

No it won't what will happen is the GOP will split into 2 parties, a libertarian and traditional GOP party. I'll probably split my vote between the 2.

They only make up about 20% of the electorate. Everyone else will abandon them.

Folks,

I saw a clip of Donald Trump at one of his rallies. His security men were throwing out a dissenter. Trump told the crowd to throw the guy out into the cold and take his coat. Throw him out into the cold with no coat.

Perfect.
