Trump called Netanyahu's bluff. I think this Jerusalem nonsense is basically a passive-aggressive move.

Netanyahu is vulnerable and he is the one who will have to deal with the reaction to Trump's announcement. Trump is causing more trouble in the Saudi/Israel alliance.

Trump just brings out the worst in people who then project it on Trump and suffer the blow back as usual. Declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel and wanting to move the US embassy there, with all the reasonable provisions in his speech that the final status of the various quarters of Jerusalem still have to be negotiated between Israel and the PA themselves (as oppsed to Obama who once declared Jerusalem the undivided capital of Israel) ... is itself honoring reality. That many people can't handle reality is sad but also a reality.

Very well put. Trump is our second sequential Rorschach president.... Just not black ink...... but orange ink! :o

The question is why NOW, and with no diplomatic coordination. The Saudi coup, the Russian/Turkish attacks on ISIS, Trump embroiled in fighting a deep state coup attempt and suddenly his priority is a lavender-stirring proclamation about Jerusalem which has been studiously avoided for a decade?

Timing is always important. Why did Trump choose to tweak Netanyahu's nose NOW?

Maybe there is no good timing in the Meddle East. What is the right timing for blowing up a bus? Build another illegal settlement? All repeating the same old?

Not sure how Trump times his actions. Unpredictable operating from the gut. Hardly any conscious thought applies but the gut is known to have neural network more complex than the brain. Maybe he has some good gut feeling about things. Or bad. It remains to be seen.

Whatever the timing and his gutty purpose, I would think that he can use this move to pressure both Israel-Netanyahu and the PA. Thou shallt compromise and freeze all settlement expansions in disputed tritory lest thee not receivesth that jolly promised embassy in Jerusalem. Thou shallt renounce and denounce all violence against Israeli life and property lest thee will never any Palestinian state ever.

Even so, would that work? No. I think even the Orange Pill can't create that miracle. The Meddle East will be at war for at least another 200 years until the ethno-religious fanatics on all sides have come to their senses, realize that God is not on their side at all and probably drinking himself into oblivion out of despair with those who try hardest to be his best friend and become the worst.

Since nothing much makes a difference... Trump might best be consumed for what he is good at: entertainment and controversy. And fun to watch others respond to it.

To dangle something in front of the western media while he builds up in and around Korea.

Korea has been hashed a million ways now but it remains a hard problem. The status quo being that Elton John's section of Korea threatens everyone to keep the south and Japan in line with the US while also keeping the US away from China, and preventing a united Korea (which no one wants-- and would probably be a nightmare to implement almost 70 years after the fact.) At the same time, the status quo cannot hold and all the kicking the can down the road has just made the problem worse. Does anyone really want a world war over North Korea? I know there are military strategists and deep state apparatchiks in all the countries involved who believe that a WWIII is necessary to shake out a new hierarchy but I'd like to think that is a minority position and they are not anywhere beyond suggesting abstract, what if scenarios. The proof of this remains how reluctant anyone is to do something about Rocketman's Korea.

That being said, economically, strategically, neither the US nor the Chinese can back down without losing face as things now stand.

So the goal is to get China to believe they have more to lose without putting the kibosh on the little dictator than the United States. That's a very dangerous game from the Trump administration and needs a very serious distraction.

me thinks those who consciously choose to be color blind do so because they perceive that it increases the quality of their lives (kinda like buying a box of chocolates where you never really know what filling is inside, adds to the fun of the experience). Unfortunately, those who see nothing but color do so for the same reason.

After Obama's first election, I recall a conversation with several friends, a couple of which were very proud of their historic role in electing our "first black president."

I replied "Well no, actually, you didn't. Obama's mother is white, so you elected our first mulatto president. Besides, didn't you people call Bill Clinton our first black president?" :P

The comment was not appreciated for it's accuracy. Here in Merika, even black and white is not so black and white. Bill Clinton is black, but Bill Cosby and Clarence Thomas are not?

Black, like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. damn those ink blots!

The Roy Moore Edge

On Tuesday we’ll learn whether Alabama voters care if their next U.S. senator is an accused pedophile with a long history of dating teens when he was in his 30s.

..

Roy Moore hasn’t pulled out a gun at any rallies lately, but he’s still the person you’d least like your daughter to run into in the Gadsden Mall.

Women have charged, with what seems like extreme credibility, that he sexually assaulted them when they were 14 and 16. You’d think that would be enough to do him in.

Look guys, most catholic priests and cardinals and bishops homosexuals .. and now this Moore a pedophile claiming G_D's law over constitution.

WTF going on ! ! !

Oh, lord, have mercy

Amen

I'm going to have to say Roy Moore's loss is a net win for Trump and the GOP. Yes a critical vote is lost for the Senate but they should still be able to pass legislation.

Usually I don't like to win by losing but this appears to be the case.

More importantly the GOP and Trump won't have to answer daily questions about Moore for the next year/years and Doug Jones will be an ineffectual back bencher with one term who will quickly be forgotten.

Without the sex scandal a Republican wins easily in AL and there are I think almost 10 Democrats running in 2018 in Trump states, so look for a GOP pickup of 7-10 seats as continue on to permanent supermajority.

What happened ? why Trump blames past presidents for American decline

Look, he might have a point

Since RR, presidents in reality did not address real issues .. rather, they joined the party, proclaiming America doing excellent .. reality was, America started the downhill since JFK .. Now, lets see whether Trump says the truth

Ronald Reagan ushered in new era of American Greatness, sole superpower and economic miracle.

Gains squandered by subsequent governments. Trump now revving up economy (new projections showing 4% growth) with gains not seen in decades. GOP supermajority firmly established, Trump 2 term President, best by far since Ronald Reagan.

Greatest US Presidents, Washington, Lincoln, Reagan, Trump. It is an honor to have seen 2 of them.

Trump wins.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/byron ... le/2643791
Something is happening in the final days of 2017. People are noticing that Donald Trump has gotten a lot done in his tumultuous first year in the White House.

Assume that tax reform passes and is signed into law. If in, say, 2014, a Republican, of either the conservative or moderate variety, predicted that in 2017 a newly-elected GOP president and Congress would —

Cut corporate and individual taxes.
Repeal the Obamacare individual mandate.
Appoint a highly-respected conservative to the Supreme Court.
Appoint a one-year record number of judges to the circuit courts.
Get rid of reams of unnecessary regulations.
Destroy ISIS.
Approve pipeline projects and new oil drilling.

-- then a lot of Republicans would probably have cheered. Loudly.
A lot more to come. America is becoming Great Again.

Why Canada Is Able to Do Things Better :D
when it comes to government, you pay for what you get.

.

Canadians tend not to talk about making their country great again. Canada never was particularly great—at least not in the sense that Trump uses the word. Unlike Americans, Canadians haven’t been conditioned to see history in epic, revolutionary terms. For them, it’s more transactional: You pay your taxes, you get your government. That might not be chanted at any political rallies or printed on any baseball hats. But it works for Canada. And it’d work for America too.

There was no "3rd world dictators" involved in 14 to 1 fiasco .. Brits, French, China, Russia etc voted against US

The bill now comes to the full General assembly for vote, we will see how the world does vote.
