No matter whether Trump impeached or not, no matter he stays or not, his presidency is "weakened"

He can not negotiate with foreign powers anymore (his negotiating stand weakened), as they would think he could be gone anytime.

"American Conservative" is owned by Pat Buchanan .. After Lindberg, Pat Buchanan the Grand Dady of "America First" of last 50 yrs

Pat Buchanan the only uncorrupted American politician of statue who has "openly" backed Trump since Trump announced his presidential candidacy.

SM, last 25 yrs, there was no Putin

And look where things ended

RM0uvgHKZe8

Thanks god we have now Putin

Here another angle of all this

You think people in Tajikistan or Uzbekistan who lived under Russian unhappy ? ? they worst off than Afghan ?

Afghanistan had a king and was in "Western camp" .. Tajikistan, Uzbekistan was in Russian, Communist camp

And ? ?

Which one now better off ?

Tajik, Uzbek have healthcare, education, secular (religion only in museum), civil society .. yes, they not rich, but they civil traditional.

Afghanistan is f*cked A to Z , biggest crop is Opium, woman walk in Burka .. and .. America in Afghanistan since 15 yrs and counting.

If I was an Afghan (poor like a mouse) I would have wished 1000 times more that Russians would have stayed in Afghanistan, rather than in present "Free and democratic" made in America Afghanistan .. 1000 times more

What does General James Mattis want in Afghanistan ? ? why a surge now ?

It is a very good thing that now world is "Multi Polar" .. China - Russia - Europe - Iran etc

UN war crimes investigators have denounced a “staggering loss of civilian life” caused by the US-backed campaign to reclaim Raqqa . .

The independent commission of inquiry tasked with investigating violations of international law, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria said the intensification of airstrikes by the US-led coalition had led to the deaths of at least 300 civilians in the city.

Deeper Into Afghanistan Mire

.

More American soldiers sent into a war we cannot win.

And oh look ! We’re being sucked into the Syrian civil war too.

Remember when Donald Trump was the candidate for withdrawing our forces from such conflicts ?

That was a nice lie to believe.

Furthermore, ceding civilian control over war-making policy to the generals is a troubling sign.

.

Am sure this one of those "fake news" Mr. Perfect always pointing to .. Jim Mattis has to be on pot thinking with a few more troops it would make any difference in Afghanistan.

I still remember General Westmoreland .. poor guy was still insisting if he had more troops he would have won Vietnam war

Vietnam war was a colonial war .. Vietnamese won their country back .. they communist (like a fox) and happy.

Iranian FM Zarif to Secretary Tillerson : U.S. Better Save Own Regime

TEHRAN - Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday hit back at the United States for rhetoric of regime change in Iran, calling on Washington's officials to worry about saving their own regime instead of talking about changing the Iranian political system which enjoys a strong backing by its people.

Russia warns US its fighter jets are now potential target

The threat of direct Russian-American confrontation in Syria escalated on Monday after Moscow said it would treat any plane from the US-led coalition flying west of the Euphrates river as a potential target.

The risks to U.S. and allied pilots have just increased substantially, and the tacit permission that our planes have been given to operate against ISIS has evidently just been withdrawn.

..

No one in Washington will care, but it is worth remembering that the U.S. has no authority to be engaged in hostilities anywhere in Syria, and our government certainly has no authority to attack Syrian government forces operating inside their own country in support for anti-regime insurgents.

..

Our Syria policy is unwise and divorced from U.S. security interests, and it is also illegal.

Wake-up call
M.K. BHADRAKUMAR

.
From all accounts, the missiles hit their target with devastating precision.

Simply put, Iran has notified the US that its 45,000 troops deployed in bases in Iraq (5,165), Kuwait (15,000), Bahrain (7,000), Qatar (10,000), the UAE (5,000) and Oman (200) are highly vulnerable.

reversal

.
The US state department has issued a stinging rebuke to Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies saying they had failed to come up with a justification for the embargo they imposed on Qatar earlier this month.

..

The public and blunt criticism of Riyadh and the United Arab Emirates marked a sharp about-turn from Donald Trump’s wholehearted backing for the embargo, and his accusations of terrorist funding against Qatar.

..

“Now that it has been more than two weeks since the embargo started, we are mystified that the Gulf states have not released to the Qataris, nor to the public, the details about the claims they are making toward Qatar,” Heather Nauert, the state department spokeswoman said.

“The more that time goes by, the more doubt is raised about the actions taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE,” she added.

“At this point, we are left with one simple question: were the actions really about their concerns regarding Qatar’s alleged support for terrorism? Or were they about the long-simmering grievances between and among the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council] countries?”
.

Suddenly, seems Saudi are the bad guys

Seems, that $ 110 B arms deal was fake

Right off the bat the New York Times cites an incident that they have no clue was a "hate crime", a Bernie Bro who does the usual Bernie Bro thing of resorting to physical violence, and then they bring in the ever present Ku Klux Klan on some rococo scam to irradiate Muslims...

On the last one there; there are probably 8,000+ (non-fed compromised) members of these little klanlets which have a 2:1 or 1:1 Fed inflation ratio for every true believer. And the amount of those who would know how to carry out such an attack from the planning to purchasing to implementing phase is infinitesimally small.

So it reads like another one of these cases where the FBI agents got bored watching Jim Bob and Bob Jim and James Bob James go in circles and decided to mess with them.

It's really hard to pay attention to something that largely begins and ends between the ears of a writer's fervid imagination.

But it isn't a zero concern.

There are a lot of nasty people out there looking to take advantage of the current situation and the more it festers, the more fraught it becomes- especially when they start forming groups.

The trouble is we already have eyes on these groups. That's what we do. And where it works to keep right wing groups compromised, it's having little effect on those cells of Islamic jihadists who are causing these problems.

After every attack, officials report that the suspect was "known" to authorities....like they were on top of what was going on, and after so many of these "known assailants" people start wanting an answer to why they didn't know about the attack itself.

either:

a) we aren't successfully infiltrating these groups and really have no clue what is going on.

b) we have succeeded but we haven't a good way to disrupt horrific plans conjured up.

c) they are being protected for various reasons from higher ups. Likely because political parties have been working overtime to turn "Muslim" into a reliable voting bloc-- and this last one may count more so in European countries where self-identifying Muslims have the numbers to make up a solid voting-bloc minority.

It's probably all of the above. And attack after attack starts to suggest to the public that the people in charge don't care when 8 year olds are blown up at a concert and have no serious interest in stopping it.

...and no one can say that about klanlet platoons as they are so riven with feds and no one among the "higher-ups" are looking to protect them for whatever reason.
