You missed the key part, HP:
the delicate question of how the Catholic hierarchy should respond to clerics who are gay—though not sexually active.
(...)
Bishops who run local dioceses have long been divided over whether to accept gay priests who are chaste
The question is not about condoning homosexual acts, which Francis reiterated are "a sin".

The question is only: should a person be barred from priesthood, on the sole basis of him having homosexual tendencies, while he wants to practice chastity just like a priest without homosexual tendencies practice chastity?

Some popes said yes. While local bishops were divided. This pope says no.

If you think that makes Catholics "pretty much done"... well...

  .. comes to mind, Bill saying "did not inhale"

That "chastity" ritual rubbish, convents are full of graves of aborted children of Nuns & Monks .. (officially) Popes had wife and children not long ago .. there is nothing in bible about chastity.

RCC is now majority homosexual .. emerging a "New RCC" .. that will destroy the "classic" RCC

If "morality" is changed, what was a sin is now no sin, would indicate that morality was no morality as it called something a sin which was no sin, opening doubt what else no sin, why adultery should be a sin when now "no fault divorce" mainstream and and and many things might be no sin (that seems the mindset of west now, poor Adolf)

All the above would lead, down the road, RCC (or any other religion going that road) will become irrelevant .. that is what's already happening (and accelerating)

I like how the Church has been taking bunker-busting bombs on this controversy for a generation until Pope Francis finally calls on it, then petulant gay activists show up to suggest the Church does another go at grovelling towards them. Fright...... some grrls do expect quite a lot....'>........
