Should all Marriages in New York be banned to save lives?

Hundreds of lives could be saved every year!!
Marriage rate in New York Marriages per 1000 people (US Census)
Murders by blunt object Deaths (US) (CDC)
Correlation: 0.879854

Were the murders done by one live-in partner to the other? The statistics seem rather blunt themselves, with both stats staying fairly stable with a slight downtrend.
