Dilemma

So I'm something of a pickle, guys, and I need soothing words right now. I'm in Las Vegas for a few days. The weather is a searing 104 degrees. The pool water evaporates from sun-kissed skin in mere seconds in the hot wind. The restaurants have much improved. I'm living off of Wagyu tartare and cucumber-avocado gaspacho. The shower in my hotel suite is fit for a king.

Life is good.

Well, almost. There's just one big problem: I booked a 5-star hotel through a Priceline express deal -- a blind booking. The hotel turned out to be...

The Trump International :-O

I'm typing this while wearing a bathrobe with "Trump" stitched onto the front. The self-loathing I feel cannot be described. I have to grudgingly concede that this hotel is VERY CLASSY.

What should I do to end my mental torment?

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT CALL A RUSSIAN ESCORT SERVICE TO PEE ON YOUR BED!

Stick to craps, pass line only, take full odds. Everything else is a sucker bet.

Haunt is a good idea. Take the robe home with you. Good foundation for a second tier halloween costume.

Go to the most expensive bar or club in the building. Find the most attractive woman there who is alone and giving come hither glances to random men. Ask her if she likes to party.

You could also try this at the pool.

Keep the robe.

The one sucker free bet is counting cards in blackjack.

However, I think LV now uses multiple decks with interdeck shuffles.

Only if you decide to run for political office.

Too late then to offer the phrase,
Пожалуйста, не мочитесь на кровати.

Pozhaluysta, ne mochites' na krovati.

Are Penn and Teller still playing in Vegas?

As I find the misdirection of magic fascinating, that would be the one show that I would want to see.

I always suspected that once Zack got away from the doped water supply of NYC, he'd go into remission.

I believe they are. I think I saw a billboard advertising their show at the Rio.

Just as well. Night #2 ended at Larry Flynn's Hustler Club. First time at a strip club, believe it or not. And it was at my friend's insistence. The next morning we discovered her phone was missing and Find My iPhone led us back to the club the next morning to pick it up (the staff are very good about returning lost items and patrons are too distracted to steal anything).

1st time?

[ She was trying to send you a message  ]

Whenever I went back in the US for a visit, my colleagues all wanted to visit a strip club and the task of figuring out where to go fell to me.
Never did get used to having the girls constantly hustle me for a lap dance. I just wanted to relax, drink my beer, and enjoy the stage show.
I understand that's how they make their money, but would have happily payed extra for the beer to be able to request a lap dance at my own discretion, if I chose to do so.
Probably too used to the discrete pay at the end of the night or leave your business card and someone will come by later in the week to collect method of operation at a kyabakura (hostess bar).

Perhaps the strip clubs in Vegas are different.

wow! That about when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Your girl friend obviously wanted you to grab her pussy! Peer pressure at these Trump hotels must be yuge!

Ya gotta get the spa treatment where they cover your eyes with cucumber slices and then paint your face orange.

Where would you have stayed if Hilary won the election? ;)

Technically, yes. Back in 2010 I did visit one of those Hong Kong brothels in Wan Chai. Not to solicit sex but at the insistence of a random, drunk Scottish banker I met partying in Lan Kwai Fong who insisted I had to at least see for myself what Wan Chai was all about. We bought the girls at the bar overpriced shots of juice, had a few overpriced beers, and when we got tired of being hassled by the Mama-sans, we left.

The whole vibe was incredibly sleazy and pathetic. I felt bad for the girls -- all Filipino and Thai -- although it seemed that they were clearly there of their own volition. The place we popped into was empty but for one other Western patron slinking at the far end of the bar, eyeing us with a mix of suspicion and embarrassment at being spotted there.

Definitely not. You've got an accurate picture of the Vegas club experience.

However, should you find yourself in Vegas and curious, my friend (who has lived there four years) said Sapphire Lounge was far nicer and more comfortable. We went to Hustler Club because both she and I had heard it mentioned, had never been, and at the recommendation of a cabbie who claimed the girls there were hotter.

The place was gross. Like the architectural manifestation of Larry Flynn himself. One thing that did surprise me was that you can freely play with the girls' boobs. I always thought these places had strict no-hands rules except maybe in private rooms. Most of the dancers had real breast (which actually kind of disappointed me) but my takeaway memory of the evening was looking at stretch marks three inches from my face and just wanting to get the hell out of there. :o

Something has changed inside me during this hotel stay. I'm going to be grabbing pussies left and right.

I do occasionally get relaxing massages (the legitimate kind!) in New York. I may throw in a facial treatment, too, next time. Just for you.

Isn't it obvious? The Cosmopolitan!
