It is brutal, brutal, brutal. Though probably not the worst thing I've been apart of- that will always belong to this couple who hired me to write with/record for them. I have hours of them having very uncomfortable marital arguments and proselytizing me to become some sort of neopagan vegan. I cut thing off and gave them back their money, just to get away from the crazy.
It's a shame 'cause the wife could really sing- like a once in a lifetime voice you come across that isn't already a professional singer in some capacity.
several lifetimes ago (aka the early 1990's) i was in an original punk-funk-jazz band thing that played the local pubs and recorded a few dodgy albums.

too much crazy, too many egotistical psychos, too much struggling, tho i do miss writing music, its amazing when you are in the zone.

as for news from me, australia is pretty much in full recession now, i live week to week expecting my main contract to go away and when it does ill be dropping all the expenses out of my life like internet.

Welcome back! Do we seem any different? One thing you might notice is that almost all prepackaged food sizes were reduced in 1Q 2016. 16 oz pkg were reduced to 12 oz, etc. The US does not count food in inflation figures, so this appears as growth in GDP. Thanks, Obama.

Keep up with bitcoin. It's up about 40 % this year. Assuming you want to gift/endow relatives, this is a serious option to consider.

Anyway, knowing we are on common soil makes me happy. With luck you will see what happens with the Stein recount and if Hillary triumphs over Trump! Better than any Superbowl!

ただいま | Tadaima. Thank you. A pleasure to be back.

In principle, I'd welcome smaller food portions, as it is always a challenge for me to not over eat when I'm here*.
Although I'm sure what was done was the sizes were reduced and the prices left the same or raised.
The one the order of a 25% increase in price. Stagflation?

*I'm like Gulliver in the land of the Brobdingnagians.
Everything is larger here, the food portions are massive, even the chocolate bars are yuuuge.

"Let them eat junk food." Lots of tricks done with the GDP; fuel excluded, inventory buildup counted as a positive, hedonic deflation.

That is an interesting thought. Thank you for the heads up. Probably a better gain than most markets.

And me. Always enjoy returning back in the Midwest. Not so cold this year.

If there was a recount and it went to Harridan Hillary, then certainly beat the Superbowl* for entertainment.

Bitcoin is sketchy for investing, but tailor made for low or no cost international currency transfer and exchange. No more travelex or bank fees.

Lots of people out on the streets in downtown Chicago shopping.
Very crowded, felt right at home

Walked by the Trump Tower by the Chicago River.
Looks as though protesters have taken a break from protesting to go shopping.

Michigan Avenue is picturesque as always this time of year.

Have decided to retire from my practice in the US this year. It was time to move on and face up to growing older.

Headed in March to Gaziantep, Turkey to provide training to medical personnel working with the flood of refugees as well as providing direct trauma surgery services as needed. Since I no longer will have obligations to my practice patients and partners, doing this will be much easier. My wife is actually supportive and encouraging with this. She had a career as a critical care nurse and retired a few years ago. She has done work over the years in a Red Cross medical team serving communities suffering disasters stateside. She will travel with me and start work in a medical mission in Adana about 2 hours away from Gaziantep.

Yes, I know, there has been recent security challenges in Turkey in the news, but frankly we don’t care. Don’t know when we will return. Looking into selling our house. This is very different country from the one who took in my parents as refugees from Stalin or even the one I entered military service for during Vietnam. Don't know if we belong here anymore.

My deepest motives for leaving though have really been spiritual and not political. When I stand before my Creator, I want to be counted with the sheep and not a goats: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:35-40)

Best to all - kmich

Asked many times, who did this to our beloved America ? ? who did it ?

Why things have to come to this ?

Joe must step back and reflect who ruined him, his country and his life.

Sad , very sad indeed
