These two things are not comparable. That they are being sold as such is just outright gaslighting.Heracleum Persicum wrote:.

...you need not be alarmed at the Intelligence Committee Memo to know that.
Couched in all the posing Mr.Comey's twitter feed is something important. Mr.Comey, being the lawyer that he is, is very careful and never says or implies the information is untrue.
And we are getting that over the over again. Which is why opposition is to downplay it. Mr.Comey is leading the charge there. It should be obvious his defense is that he needed to bend the law to uphold it. That the threat was so great (whether that be Trump or someone in his campaign or Russia, he expertly avoids) that he had to play hero-spy and lie to courts, lie to congress, pass along classified material, use sketchy info to get their ends.
Schiff's memo being a 'thing' is a distraction ,and a shameful one at that.

The memo by Representative Devin Nunes, a Republican, was made public,
but its rebuttal by Representative Adam B. Schiff and other Democrats was not.
Here’s what they say.

True but it likely won't matter. The obamized deep state is dead in it's tracks now. The searchlight of the GOP House committees is now in every nook and cranny of the Alphabet soup agencies and the hanky panky is over. Now with a Republican government the Democrat operatives will be gone through attrition.
Now, I would like to put some in jail and we might get some but it's not necessary.

Could be, but you always sounded like a Democrat. The Democratic National Committee tried to get this news under the radar, releasing it during President Trump’s State of the Union speech, but here it is: the Democratic National Committee is nearly broke.
Look at the figures: the Republican National Committee raised twice as much money in 2017; the RNC had no debt while the DNC was $6.1 million in debt with only $6.3 million in cash on hand.

What Republicans and Democrats and Trump and the media will not say:
"Hillary, the DNC and the Obama administration attempted to fix the election, and when that failed they attempted to overthrow the duly elected President."
Nobody is saying that even though that is exactly what happened.

Dershowitz is right me thinks. Declassify, with enough redactions and not more than necessary, all the relevant fisa court documents. And I'd say followed by public hearings of all the key players under oath. Pretty much, to save the US republic.

The good news is that all this is just the beginning. Lies always have an expiration date. The hidden facts are starting to leak through the cracks.

Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck are saying that. I would imagine others that aren't on local radio are also saying that. None in the larger MSM are there yet.Nonc Hilaire wrote:What Republicans and Democrats and Trump and the media will not say:

Big money and power are at stake here, if the above is true, one has to wonder how many thinly veiled threats of "I know which side of your bread the butter is on, I also know where you live, where your parents live, and where your children go to school....." have been issued to date. Severed horse heads found in beds are not needed.
If the above are true, and the facts come out, it will be interesting to see who on the republican side gave approval to the plan prior to the start. Not too hard to imagine senior democrats approaching senior republicans (or vice versa) with a discussion of "An outsider POTUS is a threat to your party, just as much as he is a threat to our party. We got a good thing going here. If this hits the fan, can we count on you to tamp down the junior, ideological members of your party, and assist in media spin?"
So much drama and hype, and so little red meat to date. It will be interesting to see who is willing to go the distance, and who thinks his allies in this endeavor are trustworthy.
I think Trey Gowdy announcing he will not seek re-election is not a good sign.

Trey Gowdy is good at cross-examination, but I don't remember him getting any results. A mix of Perry Mason and Draco Malfoy. His major achievement was getting YouTube views.
I think his decision to get out of the legislature and go back to justice is wise. He's a good guy, but a congressman's business is writing laws for lobbyist money. Not Gowdy's long suit.

I don't know what your threshold of evidence is but the thinly veiled threats continue- the FBI (a faction of the FBI) is talking to the media about getting revenge.Simple Minded wrote:Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck are saying that. Personally I am waiting for Federal Marshalls to go into the J Edgar Hoover FBI headquarters escorted by Seal Team Six to make arrests and seize evidence.NapLajoieonSteroids wrote:I don't know what your threshold of evidence is but the thinly veiled threats continue- the FBI (a faction of the FBI) is talking to the media about getting revenge.Simple Minded wrote:Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck are saying that. One thing that is odd about the way all this has gone down. The FBI has a field office in DC, which is where investigations normally occur. The HQ is supposed to be FBI Administration....

They are all lying. I was watching in Twitter yesterday in the Trend about the dow jones. Just lie after lie after lie. Suddenly it wasn't the "Obama Stock Market" but the "Trump Stock Market"Mr. Perfect wrote:And I will say the level of Democrat hysteria and lying is certainly indicative of criminality.
Well anyway the first tangible result of the final collaspe of the Democratic party 17 Democrats in the house voted with the Republicans to extend the budget until March 23.
Also:
Now Jerry Brown seems to be having a hard time deciding whether California is a sanctuary state or not. I don't understand why he just doesn't come to the compromise of calling California a Sanctimonious State and lefting it go at that.

Re: The demise of the Democrat Party
Keep reading different claims re Democratic vs Republican fundraising. This article sorts out their differing strategies:
Fortune | Republicans Are Investing Campaign Cash in the Party. Democrats Are Investing in Candidates
Fortune | Republicans Are Investing Campaign Cash in the Party. Democrats Are Investing in Candidates
While GOP donors are preparing for an all-out war to retain control of Congress by giving to their party’s central organizers, Democrats are countering by picking and choosing the individual candidates they have fallen in love with.
The Republican National Committee raked in $11.1 million in December of 2017, and $132.5 million for the entire year, record-breaking numbers for a non-election year cycle. The organization currently has $38.8 million in cash on hand, compared to the paltry $423,000 held by the Democratic National Committee, which is also saddled with $6.1 million in debt.
But on the candidate level, Democrats have a clear financial advantage.
Over 40 Democratic challengers raised more money than more than 30 House incumbents they’re running against during the final quarter of 2017, according to figures from the Federal Election Commission touted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Strategists on the left see individual races as the key to following through on what they believe is a wave of support coming this fall.
May the gods preserve and defend me from self-righteous altruists; I can defend myself from my enemies and my friends.
