Canada discovers the joys of globalism and multiculturalism
China threatens the whole country of Canada over 1 person. Canada could use a Trump.

Trump was threatening Canada earlier this year, but it worked out alright. I think we'll be ok.
Besides Canada and the US have reciprocal treaties about arresting and extraditing people wanted by the other country. Its not really discretionary, as Beijing knows.

Charming. Canada and the US are lifelong allies/neighbors with very rare bumps in the road, China does not have that relationship with Canada. What's happened here is the much larger much richer much more powerful China has revealed that they view Canada as an ant they can step on at any time, as they flood British Columbia with migrants.
For some reason Trudueas beautiful multicultural outreach of dancing in the native garb of various off continent nations did not have any impact on the Chinese viewing Canada as an ant they can step on at any time.

China flooding B.C. with boatloads of multi-millionaire tech executives.
China's "consequences" are going to be them jerking us around at some trade summit, just like Trump's hardball approach was to tack on some tariffs en route to a slightly reworked version of the same deal we had before.
As other posters on the forum from smaller nations may attest, larger countries occasionally act out like this. At the end of the day we'll all go back to making money.

The good ole days of having a frozen hell hole of a wall on three of your borders may be gone.
Anyone know any good wall contractors, eh?

Canada Moves to Ban Christians From Demonstrating in Public Under New Anti-Hate Proposal
The Canadian province of Ontario is considering legislation that would officially criminalize Christianity.
The problem with this bill, however, lies in the fact that the definition of “hate” is uncertain under Canadian law. As a result, unfortunately, the use of the word “hate” can be a useful tool for some to prevent differing views from being expressed. That is, the word “hate” can be used to silence opposing views expressed when, in fact, the views are simply a reasonable expression of belief.

If you're the right ethnicity, you're allowed to hate all you want:

excellent observation. sounds like the author is advocating apartheid for the sake of maintaining cultural purity.Apollonius wrote:If you're the right ethnicity, you're allowed to hate all you want:

so that's what a Canadian ghetto looks like..... looks like the same problem of trying to mix cultures that exists in the US.
the four stable pillars of group identity, IMSMO, are collective guilt, collective shame, collective victimhood, and collective self-loathing. something for everyone, no wonder group identity sells like hotcakes.
us smug, facile, cynics continue to be fascinated by it all. to quote one of my smug, facile, cynical mentors:
"He beat me. He robbed me. He abused me. In the minds of those who think like this, hatred will never cease."
