Re: Did not hear a "Thank You"
christmas is a rebranded pagan festivity and the pagan festivities evolved and came from migration and contact, persia is part of that chain but hardly the source.
a bunch of people got sick of the politics in africa and settled in india, then a bunch of northern indians got sick of the politics in india and started moving north and east away from that, rinse and repeat.
you should be nicer to the hindus azari, they are the root of your beloved persia

World has advanced materially, technology etc etc
but
culturally, world confused since long long time, 2600+ yrs time
IMVHO, a "World Cultural Revolution" is now overdue
patchwork will not do, a real grass-root redo only can put humanity again on the right track

aaah, waitin on the rapture/mahdi or waitin on the next great conquerer.
hah, i think monster gardner has it right, you cant fix human politics once it gets to a certain size and complexity - all you can do is move on and start again smaller
shame our tech isnt their yet.

The origins pre-date Persia.
You expect a "Thank you" for a OCD need to claim everything is from Greater Persia?
Really?
Anyways, the past is history. The present matters more.
May the gods preserve and defend me from self-righteous altruists; I can defend myself from my enemies and my friends.

Re: Did not hear a "Thank You"
Christians syncretized local traditions from everywhere they converted people. There is nothing particularly insightful about this, except for the absolutely preposterous arguments put forth about holiday traditions as if people are living in copyright court.
Men often oppose a thing merely because they have had no agency in planning it, or because it may have been planned by those whom they dislike.
