Armed Groups Inside Syria : Prelude to a US-NATO Intervention ?

"A US-NATO led intervention, which would inevitably involve Israel, is already on the drawing board of the Pentagon," . .

The analyst concluded that US Ambassador Robert Stephen Ford, who arrived in Damascus in January 2011, played a central role in setting the stage for an "armed insurrection in Syria."

"Ford's mandate in Damascus is… promoting covertly the development of an armed insurrection. In this context, the killings of civilians perpetrated by armed gangs (supported covertly by the Western military alliance) are casually blamed on the Syrian government, thereby upholding the US-NATO mandate to intervene on humanitarian grounds," . .

Why, thank you Azari. Me thinks it was much too delayed to have this thread remade here.

And as always, Chef Mahmoud knows when and when not to serve his much beloved twinkies to induce the desired effects !
For instance, over here:

http://atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/NB04Ak01.html
ere's a crash course on the "democratic" machinations of the Arab League - rather the GCC League, as real power in this pan-Arab organization is wielded by two of the six Persian Gulf monarchies composing the Gulf Cooperation Council, also known as Gulf Counter-revolution Club; Qatar and the House of Saud.

Essentially, the GCC created an Arab League group to monitor what's going on in Syria. The Syrian National Council - based in North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) member countries Turkey and France - enthusiastically supported it. It's telling that Syria's neighbor Lebanon did not.

When the over 160 monitors, after one month of enquiries, issued their report ... surprise! The report did not follow the official GCC line - which is that the "evil" Bashar al-Assad government isindiscriminately, and unilaterally, killing its own people, and so regime change is in order.

The Arab League's Ministerial Committee had approved the report, with four votes in favor (Algeria, Egypt, Sudan and GCC member Oman) and only one against; guess who, Qatar - which is now presiding the Arab League because the emirate bought their (rotating) turn from the Palestinian Authority.

So the report was either ignored (by Western corporate media) or mercilessly destroyed - by Arab media, virtually all of it financed by either the House of Saud or Qatar. It was not even discussed - because it was prevented by the GCC from being translated from Arabic into English and published in the Arab League's website.

Until it was leaked. Here it is, in full.

The report is adamant. There was no organized, lethal repression by the Syrian government against peaceful protesters. Instead, the report points to shady armed gangs as responsible for hundreds of deaths among Syrian civilians, and over one thousand among the Syrian army, using lethal tactics such as bombing of civilian buses, bombing of trains carrying diesel oil, bombing of police buses and bombing of bridges and pipelines.

Once again, the official NATOGCC version of Syria is of a popular uprising smashed by bullets and tanks. Instead, BRICS members Russia and China, and large swathes of the developing world see it as the Syrian government fighting heavily armed foreign mercenaries. The report largely confirms these suspicions.

The Syrian National Council is essentially a Muslim Brotherhood outfit affiliated with both the House of Saud and Qatar - with an uneasy Israel quietly supporting it in the background. Legitimacy is not exactly its cup of green tea. As for the Free Syrian Army, it does have its defectors, and well-meaning opponents of the Assad regime, but most of all is infested with these foreign mercenaries weaponized by the GCC, especially Salafist gangs.

It's good to know that in this very sad and morose world we live in, there are still fearless comedians and satirists willing to come out and cheer our souls with a bit of humour!

I am not a total democrat........

A majority of Athenians voted to kill all the men on the island of Lesbos * & enslave all the women & children. Sent a ship to enforce it ......... But to answer your question more directly........... AIUI Christian numbers had been dwindling in the ME for a looong time before the "democracy" movement.. ...... Suspect that Dhimmi laws and willingness to emigrate to get away from same had a lot to do with it..........

Alawi of Syria

.

Beliefs

Alawis are self-described Shi'i Muslims, and have been called Shia by other sources including the highly influential Lebanese Shia cleric Musa al-Sadr of Lebanon. Sunni scholars such as Ibn Kathir, on the other hand, have historically categorized Alawis as pagans in their religious works and documents. At least one source has compared them to Baha'is, Babis, Bektashis, Ahmadis, and "similar groups that have arisen within the Muslim community", and declared that "it has always been the consensus of the Muslim Ulama, both Sunni and Shi'i, that the Nusayri Alawi are kuffar unbelievers and mushrikun polytheists." However the prominent Sunni Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammad Amin al-Husayni, issued a fatwah recognizing them as part of the Muslim community in the interest of Arab nationalism.

Heterodox

According to Yaron Friedman, distinct Alawi beliefs include the belief that prayers are not necessary, they don't fast, nor perform pilgrimage, nor have specific places of worship. The most obvious difference between Alawites and Shi'ite Muslims, is that Alawis believe the Sunni Caliph and Shi'ite Imam Ali is an incarnation of one of the persons of God and wholly divine, along with Jesus Christ, The Prophet Muhammad and many other eastern holy men. Many of the tenets of the faith are secret and known only to a select few Alawi. In the 19th century, however, an Alawite named Sulaiman al-Adni converted to Christianity and in 1863, compiled a book called Al-Bakurah as-Suliamaniya fi Kashf Asrar ad-Diyanah an-Nusairiyah (The First Fruits of Sulaiman in Revealing the Secrets of the Nusairi Religion). Orientalists like Louis Massignon gained access to a number of Nusairi manuscripts.

According to some sources, Alawis have integrated doctrines from other religions (Syncretism), in particular from Ismaili Islam and Christianity. According to scholar Cyril Glasse, it is thought that "as a small, historically beleaguered ethnic group", the Alawi "absorbed elements" from the different religions that influenced their area from Hellenistic times onward, while maintaining their own beliefs, and "pretended to adhere to the dominant religion of the age." Alawites are reported to celebrate certain Christian festivals, "in their own way", including Christmas, Easter, and Palm Sunday, and their religious ceremonies make use of bread and wine. According to Matti Moosa, a "leading scholar of the Nusayris",

The Christian elements in the Alawite sect are unmistakable. They include the concept of trinity; the celebration of Christmas, the consecration of the Qurban, that is, the sacrament of the flesh and blood which Christ offered to his disciples, and, most important, the celebration of the Quddas (although Shia scholars dispute these allegations) (a lengthy prayer proclaiming the divine attributes of Ali and the personification of all the biblical patriarchs from Adam to Simon Peter, who preached the gospel sermon originating the Church (Matthew 16:18, Acts 2), who is perceived as the embodiment of true Islam).

Glasse writes that they also practice a religious feast called by the Persian name Naw Ruz.

Alawis have much in common with the Ismailis in terms of overall beliefs, and they are sometimes regarded as "an offshoot of this group." According to scholar Umar F. Abd-Allah, who uses Sulaiman al-Adni's book along with other sources, the Alawis, like the Ismailis and related groups, believe that the Shariah has both an esoteric, allegorical (Batini) meaning and an exoteric, literal (zahiri) meaning and that only the hidden meaning is intended. Alawis believe the esoteric meaning is known only to the Imams and later to the Bab and was hidden even to the Islamic prophet Muhammad himself. Only the Bab has access to this esoteric meaning in the absence of the Imam.

Alawis believe in a "trinity" or "schema" of `Ain-Mim-Sin, which stands for `Ali, Muhammad, and Salman al-Farsi, the Persian Companion of Muhammad. Muhammad is known as ism, or "name", Ali as bab, or "door", and Salman al-Farsi as ma'na, or "meaning", with both Muhammad and Ali considered to be emanations of Salman al-Farsi. According to Abd-Allah, each of these three is said to have been an incarnation of God. Ali, however, constitutes the most important part of this trinity. The Alawi testimony of faith is: `I have borne witness that there is no God but He, the most High, the object of worship and that there is no concealing veil (hijab) except the lord Muhammad, the object of praise, (as-Sayyid Muhmmad al-Mahmud), and there is not Bab except the lord Salman al-Farisi` The Nusairis believe in the subsequent incarnation of God in other persons after the passing of `Ali, Muhammad, and Salman al-Farisi (Salman the Persian (Azari) ...

Orthodox

Some sources have suggested that the non-Muslim nature of many of the historical Alawi beliefs notwithstanding, Alawi beliefs may have changed in recent decades. In the early 1970s a booklet entitled al-`Alawiyyun Shi'atu Ahl al-Bait (The Alawis are Followers of the Household of the Prophet), was issued in which doctrines of the Imami Shi'ah were described as 'Alawi, and which was "signed by of numerous `Alawi` men of religion". This book and Musa Sadr's proclamation have led one scholar to wonder whether "a mass conversion from Nusairism to Shi'ah Islam" has taken place. Another scholar suggests that factors such as the high profile of Alawi in Syria, the strong aversion of the Muslim majority to apostasy, and the relative lack of importance of religious doctrine to Alawi identity may have induced Syrian leader Hafez al-Assad and his successor son to press their fellow Alawi "to behave like 'regular Muslims', shedding or at least concealing their distinctive aspects."

Alawis have their own scholars, referred to as shaikhs, although more recently there has been a movement to bring Alawism and the other branches of Twelver Islam together through educational exchange programs in Syria and Qumm.

Some sources have talked about "sunnification" of Alawites under Baathist Syrian leader and Alawite Hafiz al-Asad. Joshua Landis, Director of the Center for Middle East Studies, writes that Hafiz al-Asad "tried to turn Alawites into `good` (read Sunnified) Muslims in exchange for preserving a modicum of secularism and tolerance in society." While al-Asad "declared the Alawites to be nothing but Twelver Shiites", he "set the example for his people by adhering to Sunni practice. He built mosques in Alawite towns, prayed publicly and fasted and encouraged his people to do the same." In a paper on "Islamic Education in Syria", Landis wrote that "no mention" is made in Syrian textbooks controlled by the Al Assad regime, of Alawites, Druze, and Ismailis or even Shi`a Islam. "Islam is presented as a monolithic religion and Sunni Islam is it." Ali Sulayman al-Ahmad, chief judge of the Baathist Syrian state, has stated: “We are Alawi Muslims. Our book is the Quran. Our prophet is Muhammad. The Ka`ba is our qibla, and our religion is Islam.”

According to author Theo Padnos, who lived in Syria from 2007 to 2010, the Alawi religion "doesn’t exist anymore." During the years under Hafez Al Assad's rule, Alawites became not Shia, but effectively Sunni. Public manifestation or "even mentioning of any Alawite religious activities" was banned, as was any Alawite religious organizations or "any formation of a unified religious council" or a higher Alawite religious authority. "Sunni-style" mosques were built in every Alawite village, and Alawi were encouraged to perform Hajj. While some Alawites may still participate in their religious rites in Syria, Padnos says "it’s hard to find anyone who takes these ceremonies seriously."

Hans also appears to disagree with me but I remember him posting that New Boss Same as the Old Boss cartoon about things in Libya being as bad after Gaddaffy Duck as before.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnn

Wonder why Hans is unhappy with what happened in Libya but seems to support doing it in Syria?.............

What is the difference................

Let's Wiki!

Libya:

By far the predominant religion in Libya is Islam with 97% of the population associating with the faith.[193] The vast majority of Libyan Muslims adhere to Sunni Islam, which provides both a spiritual guide for individuals and a keystone for government policy, but a minority (between 5 and 10%) adhere to Ibadism (a branch of Kharijism), above all in the Jebel Nafusa and the town of Zuwara, west of Tripoli. A Libyan form of Sufism is also common in parts of the country.[194]
Mosque in Ghadames, close to the Tunisian and Algerian border. About 97% of Libyans are followers of Islam.

Before the 1930s, the Senussi Movement was the primary Islamic movement in Libya. This was a religious revival adapted to desert life. Its zawaaya (lodges) were found in Tripolitania and Fezzan, but Senussi influence was strongest in Cyrenaica. Rescuing the region from unrest and anarchy, the Senussi movement gave the Cyrenaican tribal people a religious attachment and feelings of unity and purpose.[195]

This Islamic movement, which was eventually destroyed by both Italian invasion and later the Gaddafi government,[195] was very conservative and somewhat different from the Islam that exists in Libya today. Gaddafi asserts that he is a devout Muslim, and his government is taking a role in supporting Islamic institutions and in worldwide proselytising on behalf of Islam.[196] A Libyan form of Sufism is also common in parts of the country.[194]

Other than the majority of Sunni Muslims, there are also small foreign communities of Christians. Coptic Orthodox Christianity, which is the Christian Church of Egypt, is the largest and most historical Christian denomination in Libya. There are over 60,000 Egyptian Copts in Libya, as they comprise over 1% of the population.[197][198] There are an estimated 40,000 Roman Catholics in Libya who are served by two Bishops, one in Tripoli (serving the Italian community) and one in Benghazi (serving the Maltese community). There is also a small Anglican community, made up mostly of African immigrant workers in Tripoli; it is part of the Anglican Diocese of Egypt.

Libya was until recent times the home of one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world, dating back to at least 300 BC.[199] In 1942 the Italian Fascist authorities set up forced labor camps south of Tripoli for the Jews, including Giado (about 3,000 Jews) and Gharyan, Jeren, and Tigrinna. In Giado some 500 Jews died of weakness, hunger, and disease. In 1942, Jews who were not in the concentration camps were heavily restricted in their economic activity and all men between 18 and 45 years were drafted for forced labor. In August 1942, Jews from Tripolitania were interned in a concentration camp at Sidi Azaz. In the three years after November 1945, more than 140 Jews were murdered, and hundreds more wounded, in a series of pogroms.[200] By 1948, about 38,000 Jews remained in the country. Upon Libya's independence in 1951, most of the Jewish community emigrated.

Syria:
Sunni Muslims account for 74% of the population,[143] while the remaining 12% are Shia – Alawite, Twelvers, and Ismailis combined [143], Druze 3%,[143] Christian 9%[143] (majority Antiochian Orthodox, other Christian include Greek Catholic, Assyrian Church of the East, Armenian Orthodox, Protestants and other various denominations).
Great Mosque of Aleppo, Aleppo

President Bashir Al-Assad's family is Alawite and Alawites dominate the government of Syria and hold key military positions.[144]

Christians, a sizable number (2.5 million) of which are also found among Syria's population of Palestinian refugees, are divided into several groups. Chalcedonian Antiochian Orthodox ("Greek Orthodox"; Arabic: الروم الارثوذكس‎, ar-Rūmu 'l-Urṯūḏuks) make up 45% of the Christian population; the Catholics (Melkite, Armenian Catholic, Syriac Catholic, Maronite, Chaldean Catholic and Latin) make up 16%; the Syriac Orthodox Church 27%, the Armenian Apostolic Church 8%, Assyrian Church of the East and several smaller Christian denominations account the remainder. Many Christian monasteries also exist. Many Christian Syrians belong to a high socio-economic class.[145]
Biggest difference I can note is that Libya is 97% pure Muslims so mayhem is more likely to be be Muslims against Muslim.

Syria is more diverse........... Lots more Christians and heretics like Alawis to kill................

Could be wrong........... May be I am.............

Maybe Her Majesty Sweetness N. Light will reign once Dr. Assad opens a Lasik eye surgery clinic in London, Paris or Moscow............

But I'm not betting on it........

Given the history, I suspect that the Alawis may go down hard:
The Alawis number about 2,350,562 or 11% of the population in Syria, constitute Syria's largest religious minority. They live chiefly along the coast in Al Ladhiqiyah/Latakia Province, where they form over 80 percent of the rural population. For centuries, the Alawis constituted Syria's most repressed and exploited minority. Most were indentured servants and tenant farmers or sharecroppers working for Sunni landowners. However, after Alawi President Hafez Assad and his family clan came to power in 1970, the living condition of the Alawis improved considerably. Split by sectional rivalries as the Alawis lack a single, powerful ruling family, has lead, since independence, to the emergence of many individual Alawis who have attained power and prestige as military officers. Although they are settled cultivators, Alawis gather into kin groups much like those of pastoral nomads. The four Alawi confederations, each divided into tribes, are Kalbiyah, Khaiyatin, Haddadin, and Matawirah
.

Sounds a little familiar............. Way Down South in the Land of Cotton.......

Irony is that I am a supporter of Israel............

Irony is that I seem to be aligning with Iran's position except that I want Dr. Assad/Syria to quit messing with Israel...........

Re: The Syria Thread

Post by Hans Bulvai »

I am unhappy about Libya and WILL be unhappy about Syria because ultimately and despite the resilience of the heroic Syrian people, their revolution will get hijacked from them. It is just a changing of the gaurd in Middle East. And there is no comparison between the Syrian people and Libyans. Syrians are generally more united and are not divided along tribal lines (maybe a few Alawites get a spat of revenge killings but it will pale compared to what's going on now. They tend to be more educated and progressive than the Libyans. I doubt that Assad's dead body would be paraded around town like that of Gaddafi's (At least I hope not. I have a higher view of Syrians than I do Libyans but nothing surprises me anymore). And if it did, scores would speak out against it unlike Libya where even the Mufti of Libya declared Gaddafi to be a non-Muslim as if that makes it ok (And no man has a right to declare another to be a non-Muslim). I read today that the Muslim Brotherhood's man in Syria called what's going on a genocide... The first time I hear of the MB speaking in Syria. Same for Jordan where they called for the King's authority to be curtailed.... hmmm... Seems that these guys are being emboldened despite the fact that no one wants them. I wonder who they struck a deal with. So the people fight and die for what they want (Egyptians, Syrians, etc...) and in the end they get nothing of what they wanted. Assad is a murdering dictator like his father before him. But anyone who thinks that any better will emerge does not know anything about the Arabs (and Islam has nothing to do with it in this case). You want me to care about a few Christians who supported a dictator? I hope nothing happens to them but if it does, it has less to do with them being Christians and more being supporters of a brutal regime that oppressed a majority. Hell, if you are so worried about your brethren look at the LRA in Africa. These guys make Boko Haram look like urban gangsters.

Hans Bulvai wrote:I am unhappy about Libya and WILL be unhappy about Syria because ultimately and despite the resilience of the heroic Syrian people, their revolution will get hijacked from them. Thank you Very Much for your post, Hans.

Fair enough.

Problem was I perceived you to be gloating with your comment about how the Christian population of the ME had declined since "Democracy" came in.
The first time I hear of the MB speaking in Syria.
The MB have a long tradition of "Sneaking" ;) in Syria............ and elsewhere.........
In 1979, a chain of assassinations took place in the artillery school in Aleppo. After almost a year, a member from the group believed to be behind the assassinations was injured and taken into custody by the Syrian intelligence system. He was identified as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood party. The party's goals were to eliminate all persons who had strong ties with the government or Ba'ath party, focusing on Ba'athists who were educated and had a good reputation within the government, or army high ranking members who were members of Assad's family or Alawites. It took Syrian intelligence a long time to penetrate the Muslim Brotherhood and diminish its power. In February 1982, Assad ordered the Syrian army to bombard the town of Hama in order to quell a revolt by the Muslim Brotherhood. In what became known as the Hama massacre, an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 people were killed, including about 1,000 soldiers an thousands of Islamist militants, members of the Muslim Brotherhood.

The American "Penquins" I am referring to Christian Reconstructionists/Dominionists such as the late* Rousas J. Rushdoony

Image

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rousas_John_Rushdoony

and his son in law/disciple financial expert Gary North

Image

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_North ... tionist%29

Who advocate pretty much enacting the "Law of Moses" in force as the law of the United States: death penalty for adultery, blasphemy, disobedient to parents, fornication, homosexuality etc. the OT/Tanakh list ........ Outlawing every religion except Christianity (but what types of Christians: see Antinomian below: says they are blasphemers ) and Judaism (maybe but again I don't trust Rousas & Gary: what type of Jews....)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antinomianism

They're serious about being the "Christian" equivalent or probably worse than Muslim Salafi/Wahabis except that they allow booze........ Remember reading where Rushdoony became incensed that someone had included drunkards in the laundry list of death penalty eligible people and wrote in that he did not advocate death for drunkards......... probably a good thing for the Homeroids from that quaint little drinking village in Alaska with a fishing problem ;)

Here it is...............
Getting cozy with theocrats

Walter Olson from the November 1998 issue (Reason Magazine)

For connoisseurs of surrealism on the American right, it's hard to beat an exchange that appeared about a decade ago in the Heritage Foundation magazine Policy Review. It started when two associates of the Rev. Jerry Falwell wrote an article which criticized Christian Reconstructionism, the influential movement led by theologian Rousas John (R.J.) Rushdoony, for advocating positions that even they as committed fundamentalists found "scary." Among Reconstructionism's highlights, the article cited support for laws "mandating the death penalty for homosexuals and drunkards." The Rev. Rushdoony fired off a letter to the editor complaining that the article had got his followers' views all wrong: They didn't intend to put drunkards to death.

Ah, yes, accuracy does count. In a world run by Rushdoony followers, sots would escape capital punishment--which would make them happy exceptions indeed. Those who would face execution include not only gays but a very long list of others: blasphemers, heretics, apostate Christians, people who cursed or struck their parents, females guilty of "unchastity before marriage," "incorrigible" juvenile delinquents, adulterers, and (probably) telephone psychics. And that's to say nothing of murderers and those guilty of raping married women or "betrothed virgins." Adulterers, among others, might meet their doom by being publicly stoned--............
Lot's more including political connections....... have been trying to infiltrate Libertarians with causes like "hard money" & "home schooling" .......... Old but an important read.............

http://reason.com/archives/1998/11/01/i ... -a-stoning

"Wild about Handmaids" is my "Girls Gone Wild" riff on Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" which visualizes the U.S. replaced by a dystopian Dominionist "Republic of Gilead" where among other things the Boyz in charge have resurrected the quaint OT custom of having your "Handmaid" i.e. sex-slave-girl pinch hit for your sterile wife just like Leah and Rachel and Jacob "Jake" did with their slavegirls in the book of Genesis..............

Perhaps as nasty a place as you can find outside of North Korea or Afghanistan .............. Come that I intend to leave......... For Canada if I can.... wherever else that isn't worse if I must..............

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Handma ... ot_summary

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girls_Gone_Wild

Gary North has been affiliated with Ron Paul probably because he believes in the Gold Standard............ Hope that is ALL that it is......

When Rushdoony died, Pres. George W. Bush sent condolences to North........... Again too close........... Like Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers. Bernadine Dohrn and Pres. Obama..........

Some quotes from Rush   to judgment Rushdoony.............
# God in His law requires the death penalty for homosexuals. [R.J. Rushdoony, Reconstructionist theologian, in a letter to Mel White]

# The Bible is without reservation in its condemnation of homosexuality . . . „If a man also lie with mankind . . . they shall be put to death.‰ (Lev. 20:13) . . . This is certainly clear enough and there is not a single text in all of the New Testament to indicate that this penalty has been altered or removed. . . (pp 422-25). . . We find that St. Paul far from setting aside the law and its penalties appeals to the death penalty against homo-sexuals as an established and continuing fact. (Rom 1:32) (p735) [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law]

# Democracy is the great love of the failures and cowards of life. [R.J. Rushdoony, _Thy Kingdom Come_,1978]

# One faith, one law and one standard of justice did not mean democracy. The heresy of democracy has since then worked havoc in church and state . . . Christianity and democracy are inevitably enemies. (p 100) [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law]

# Christianity is completely and radically anti-democratic; it is committed to spiritual aristrocracy. [R.J. Rushdoony, Reconstructionist theologian, from _The Religious Right: The Assault on Tolerance and Pluralism In America_, published by ADL]

# The state is a bankrupt institution. The only alternative to this bankrupt 'humanistic' system is a God-centered government. [R.J. Rushdoony, Reconstructionist theologian, from _The Religious Right: The Assault on Tolerance and Pluralism In America_, published by ADL]

# The 'civil rights' revolutionary groups are a case in point. Their goal is not equality but power. The background of Negro culture is African and magic, and the purposes of magic are control and power. . . Voodoo or magic was the religion and life of American Negroes. Voodoo songs underlie jazz, and old voodoo, with its power goal, has been merely replaced with revolutionary voodoo, a modernized power drive." (p. 61) [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law]

# Segregation or separation is thus a basic principle of Biblical law with respect to religion and morality. Every attempt to destroy this principle is an effort to reduce society to its lowest common denominator. Toleration is the excuse under which this levelling is undertaken, but the concept of toleration conceals a radical intolerance. In the name of toleration, the believer is asked to associate on a common level of total acceptance with the atheist, the pervert, the criminal, and the adherents of other religions as though no differences existed. [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 294]

# Biblical law permits voluntary slavery because it recognizes that some people are not able to maintain a position of independence . . . The law is humane and also unsentimental. It recognizes that some people are by nature slaves and will always be so. (pp. 286, 251) [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law]

# All who are content with a humanistic law system and do not strive to replace it with Biblical law are guilty of idolatry. They have forsaken the covenant of their God, and they are asking us to serve other gods. They are thus idolaters, and are, in our generation, when our world is idolatrous and our states also, to be objects of missionary activity. They must be called out of their idolatry into the service of the living God.

# Christian man is thus doubly a sinner when he is antinomian and despises God's law: he has denied the law in Adam, and now, with consummate profanity, he denies it in the name of Christ. He thus doubly denies the everlasting covenant, and doubly transgresses the laws. [R.J. Rushdoony, Law and Society: Volume II of the Institutes of Biblical Law (Vallecito, CA: Ross House Books, 1982), pp. 468, 316]

# St. Paul, in reminding the Corinthian Christians of their destiny, said, Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? (I Cor. 6:2). Moffatt renders this, Do you not know that the saints are to manage the world?, a meaning we do not need to remind ourselves of. Church government is a prelude to world government, not by the church but by the saints. In trying to establish the necessary church government towards this end, Paul's constant appeal was, not to the form of church government or to the members, but to the law of God and the growth of the saints in terms of it (I Cor. 6:15-9:27). ....Judging, governing, or managing of the world is in terms of God's law. Because the saints were called to manage or govern the world, very quickly it became their purpose to move into positions of authority and power. [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), pp. 773,742]

# The goal is the developed Kingdom of God, the New Jerusalem, a world order under God's law. [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ: Craig Press, 1973), p. 357]

# 1. God's covenant with Adam required him to exercise dominion over the earth and to subdue it (Gen. 1:26 ff) under God according to God's law-word.

2. The restoration of that covenant relationship was the work of Christ, His grace to His elect people.

3. The fulfillment of that covenant is their great commission: to subdue all things and all nations to Christ and His law-word. [R.J. Rushdoony, The Institutes of Biblical Law (Nutley, NJ:Craig Press, 1973)]

http://atheism.about.com/library/quotes ... hdoony.htm

Gary North Quotes
"So let us be blunt: we must use the doctrine of religious liberty to gain independence for Christian schools until we train up a generation of people who know that there is no religious neutrality, no neutral law, no neutral education, and no neutral civil government. Then they will get busy in constructing a Bible-based social, political and religious order which finally denies the religious liberties of the enemies of God."

[Gary North, quoted in Albert J. Menendez, Visions of Reality: What Fundamentalist Schools Teach (Prometheus Books, 1993)]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The long-term goal of Christians in politics should be to gain exclusive control over the franchise. Those who refuse to submit publicly to the eternal sanctions of God by submitting to His Church's public marks of the covenant--baptism and holy communion--must be denied citizenship, just as they were in ancient Israel."

[Gary North, Political Polytheism: The Myth of Pluralism (Tyler, TX: Institute for Christian Economics, 1989), p. 87]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The question eventually must be raised: Is it a criminal offense to take the name of the Lord in vain? When people curse their parents, it unquestionably is a capital crime (Ex. 21:17). The son or daughter is under the lawful jurisdiction of the family. The integrity of the family must be maintained by the threat of death. Clearly, cursing God (blasphemy) is a comparable crime, and is therefore a capital crime (Lev. 24:16)."

[Gary North, The Sinai Strategy: Economics and the Ten Commandments (Tyler, TX: Institute for Christian Economics, 1986), pp. 59-60]

I agree with you Azari on everything except for the second to last part.
Remember, Assad is presiding over an artificial country with borders that where drawn by the same people you mention (Brits and French) He is not anymore legitimate than the emir shitheads. There is NOT A SINGLE ruler in the Middle East that is legitimate. And none will come after the shitheads are gone.

Funny you mention the Qataris and British...

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php? ... leId=29150
According to Debka, the Israeli intelligence news media, both British and Qatari Special forces have been dispatched to Syria.

According to the report, the special forces units --operating in tandem with rebel forces in Homs-- "are not engaged in direct combat" against Syrian government forces. They are described by Debka as "tactical advisers", involved in supporting rebel communications systems as well organizing the supply and delivery of weapons, ammunition, mostly from Turkey. The dispatch of foreign "fighters" was also mentioned in the report. DEBKAfile, First Foreign Troops in Syria, February 8, 2012

Debka also reports that "two foreign contingencies have set up four centers of operation - in the northern Homs district of Khaldiya, Bab Amro in the east, and Bab Derib and Rastan in the north. ... " (Ibid)

"The presence of the British and Qatari troops was seized on by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan for the new plan he unveiled to parliament in Ankara Tuesday, Feb. 7. Treating the British-Qatari contingents as the first foreign foot wedged through the Syrian door, his plan hinges on consigning a new Turkish-Arab force to Homs through that door and under the protection of those contingents. Later, they would go to additional flashpoint cities.

The British-Qatari troop presence in Homs was at the center of Assad's talks in Damascus Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian SVR intelligence chief Mikhail Fradkov. Senior Syrian intelligence officers laid their updates from the field before the Russian visitors and received SVR data and evaluations in return." (Ibid)

The presence of foreign troops on the ground inside Syria is in violation of International Law.

Support to armed groups --integrated by mercenaries and funded by foreign powers-- constitutes a violation of Syria's sovereignty as a nation state.

There is ample evidence that this armed insurgency is directly supported by the US and NATO. There is also evidence that these armed groups are responsible for killing civilians and carrying out terrorist acts.

Look Hans ,

Arab (speaking) world, in reality 3 entity

Egypt

Greater Syria (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan)

Arabia (Jazirat-Ul-Arab)

The Brits and French partitioned "Greater Syria" to genuflect them .. that (CIA crony to the bone) Hashemite dynasty from Hejaz western tool

and

what is wrong with Assad as leader of "Greater Syria" ? partnering with Iran ? thanks God, thanks God .. at least Arabs have somebody to defend Middle Eastern just rights

What Arabs need is secular Patriots .. Assad IS Syrian patriot .. if he was no Patriot, he would have sold Syria to Zionist, like Egyptian Generals did.

Assad is crony of whom ?

Assad his own man, good or bad, he Syrian patriot .. acid test is, the beasts, the colonial powers want him to go

British (now they say also French) and Qatari (did not even know Qatar has any military) special forces are in Syria killing civilians and blaming on Assad, reported in media since a week

Arabs must be proud of Iran .. now Middle Eastern people can stand against Brits and French and Americans .. now Middle Eastern people also have top notch world class scientist in all domain .. not Middle Eastern people also launch satellite and soon will send astronauts to space and and and

have said many times, Arabs must side with Iran .. Turkey is part of NATO, meaning an instrument of the beasts wanting to enslave Middle East .. Turkey fooling Arabs
