Well, that part of the mast is called a "boom".
Some of my best times were getting laid on a Hobie Cat in High School. We had a drive-in theatre visible from the lake. No sound from the movie so we made our own.
Hobie Cat have their uses.

Anyways, what I enjoy about sailing is that when I board a boat and head out to sea, I leave rest of the world behind.

My universe then consists of the sea, the sky, the boat, and sometimes crewmates.

No news to annoy me, no issues to vex me.
