ive only met a handful of people in my life who prefer mind your own business, liberal capitalism to socialism.

their is a compelling argument that most of them are powered by lack of skills to deal with squabbling packs of humans so its a preference, not a morality.

Wow, we have Chairman Mao and Leon Trotsky here with us. :)

Satisficing and not maximizing is more the rule than anything. Leaving aside many things, including when they are right; it is very hard to talk satisficers into different paths (if one is even going to entertain that route.)

hah, im not talking about my preferences, just musing on reality - their is a reason i found the spengler board amusing in the first place, it was a refuge for the loony demographic who like the old, pre technocrat version of the west.

barring my dad and his circles, I could count the amount of straight up capitalism fans on one hand in these parts.

it was the biggest cause of my squabbles with mr p - he kept arguing for a political reality that had died before i was born, it had no relevance to modern australia and its packs of rent seeking socialists.

which brings us back to race,

in our modern technocrat world, the paths to controling others and collecting good rent are government and corporate work.

to get the government or corporate work you need a uni degree.

thusly we have ideological battles over the universities,

Panagiotis Kondylis and his massdemocracy

or John Lukacs and his passing of the modern ages

or maybe even Nassem Taleb and his rule by intransigents

if you beat the chilluns repeatadly , they grow immune to the beatings, and this takes alot of the fear out of life.
Yep. Insulation from life are like diapers, and bottles of infinite capacity. One can believe anything when there are no consequences to one's actions and beliefs.

Real life doesn't let people think like that for long. As a friend loves to say "That's why stupid is supposed to hurt!"

Living a lifestyle where a paper cuts is the worst possible injury one can receive for f**cking up, tends to influence one's thought processes. Doesn't exactly promote stretching and growth.

We've all met the brilliant intellectual who one would not trust to walk their dog. They are what they are because of their nature or because or their nurture is hard to determine for the observer. One of my favorite articles of all time:

Chairman Mao, is that you? :)
Just think how much better their stories would be.....

well, I think more than anything we need language to defend against technocrat statistical rule - i dont mind them being them, I do mind them having too much control over me.

with the lack of relevance for religion in the public discussion - culture and race in the context of multicultural are the last refuge to not be sensible (tm)

Im not sure where this comes from, or how it will be presented - which is another angle on why im not so fussed about this new ideological battle and the loonies as some here.

this particular battle has barely started yet and rules for the goose become rules for the gander.,

BLM founder Patrisse Cullors’ $1.4M home draws criticism, call for investigation

Ny Magee
Mon, April 12, 2021, 7:40 AM

Black Lives Matter of Greater New York chair Hawk Newsome questions how much Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has contributed to charity.

The head of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York is calling for an investigation into Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors over million-dollar real estate purchases she’s made in recent years.

Cullors, 37, has reportedly purchased four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the U.S. alone, per New York Post, including property in a mostly white area of Topanga Canyon in Los Angeles County for $1.4 million.
“Patrisse’s work for Black people over the years has made her and others who align with the fight for Black liberation targets of racist violence. The narratives being spread about Patrisse have been generated by right-wing forces intent on reducing the support and influence of a movement that is larger than any one organization. This right-wing offensive not only puts Patrisse, her child and her loved ones in harm’s way, it also continues a tradition of terror by white supremacists against Black activists. All Black activists know the fear these malicious and serious actions are meant to instill: the fear of being silenced, the trauma of being targeted, the torture of feeling one’s family is exposed to danger just for speaking out against unjust systems. We have seen this tactic of terror time and again, but our movement will not be silenced.”

Just like Michelle and Barack. Reverd Wright, Oprah, Labron James, etc. Kinda sad how black people who beome rich can't "keep it real" and opt to flee the hood.

Apparently, she didn't get the memo from Coca Cola about "try to be less white!"

Being altruistic is just toooo damn lucrative these days! (tm)

The curse of Aaron - David Cole, Taki's Magazine, 13 April 2021
https://www.takimag.com/article/the-curse-of-aaron/

O, why should wrath be mute, and fury dumb?
I am no baby, I, that with base prayers
I should repent the evils I have done:
If one good deed in all my life I did,
I do repent it from my very soul.

I had him confused with Titus Aducsass.

City J | A Troubled Rule of Law
The pervasive sense that cities would burn if Derek Chauvin were not convicted raises questions about whether the jury’s verdict was reached dispassionately.

I liked Tim Pool's take on this The police should have done nothing.

As Pool says in his video I posted the people in those localities did not vote for the police. If people don't want the protection of the police then those police should do nothing.

That's civilizational collapse.

Taki's Mag | Thanks, Jurors! You’re Safe Now. We Aren’t
To watch the hours of celebratory fist-pumping from government officials and black activists after the guilty verdicts against police officer Derek Chauvin this week, you’d think Minnesota had just won the NCAA tournament.

Yep! Lots of different types of "civilization" over here. Celebrate diversity!

Listening to the news blips on the radio, the quip is always "White cop shoots black person." Only the details that fit the narrative are mentioned. Never "Cop shoots person resisting arrest." or "Cop shoots person wanted for violent felonies." or "Cop shoots person who tries to take his gun." or "Cop shoots armed suspect after chase."

I think most of America still views the current news cycle as the MSM obsessed with local patches of insane culture, and trying to paint all of the country with the same brush. Strangely enough, the local aspect of the events are never emphasized. It is always an indictment of all of Western Civilization.

"Universities? Portand? Chicago? NYC? Politicians? Hasn't that crowd always been crazy? What's new about that?"
