Billionaire are the "money shufflers" .. that is the definition of "Hedge Funds", they no building a better mouse trap, they just fleecing the entrepreneurs, what they do is creating "VOLATILITY", to shake-up the creators, to separate the builders from their creation .. this a paradise for crooks, that is why wealth is wiped-out, and created, overnight.

They certainly did. I don't think it explains the whole of US economical woes, or those of other developed nations, but it certainly counts as a factor.

The part of total private profits going to finance / insurance companies is definitely larger now than 30 years ago. And David Goldman failed to mention that among the reasons why many middle-class Americans - like their counterparts of many other developed nations - feel disenfranchized.


About DPG's characterization of Trump as "an Hitler who likes Jews", or being only "about resentment", calling it preposterous would be gentle...

Like his style or not, what is below that style is not resentment, even less militaristic agression nor political violence à la Adolf. A few of Trump's markers:
- Does not want new US wars abroad
- Does not believe in free trade first and foremost & wants a measure of economic protectionism
- Wants to limit new immigration
- Harshly criticizes leeway of the über-rich over the US political process and wants to correct it
- Believes in action, single-man determination pushing for a cause, then striking "deals"

Now, one may agree or disagree with each of those items, but the fact is that none is unprecedented in US history, nor especially original by the way. And this content is not about "resentment".

From what I've learnt about him, I can imagine Trump being the kind of guy who will push as hard as he can & rip your head off if necessary at the negotiating table, then fraternize with you immediately afterwards, 'cause "it's not personal". I suspect him to be a card-carrying member of the "Bargain hard / Party hard" club.


But then, I have a vision. Yes, a vision. I see Trump and Sanders being the nominees for 2016.

Amen. Almost every Western nation is currently engaged in deficit spending, which is simply robbing those too young to vote, ie: the true believers eating their young. The nasty part (or the just part, depending upon one's viewpoint) is a couple decades later when the younguns cancel the promises of freebies they never made and start eating their elders.
