australia has empty space like hardly any other country, you can get proper silence like an astronaut here.
its very soothing if you have enough time to settle into it.

Brings to mind the old quote: "To a mind that is still, the entire universe surrenders."
For all the left-right ideological squabble and blustering, I think a lot of it is genetic. For lefties, solitude is painful, for righties, solitude is peaceful.
I enjoyed the marketing concept of shared solitude/quiet time in the article.
