So nice, we'll do it twice!

:)

*and of course, second go around will be the farce*

the main difference being that mao and adolf were singleton charismats and got the entire youth movements to themselves.

the west is currently split between multiple youth movements that hate each other and it currently seems absurd to imagine someone charismatic enough to bring the bernie bro's and the alt-right froggies under a single banner.

if of course someone does pop up that does do this, lavender will get real very fast.

on a side note - i watch mikey chens dimsum channel for inspiration and food porn, didnt know he did history lessons.
I didn't know Bernie Bros and alt-right Bros were on the verge of dictating terms under the new committee for public safety :)

Twitter lets everyone play the role of Louis Saint Just: snotty teenager who turned his "f-you mom and dad" feelings into sending everyone to the guillotine.

I just wanna say that I was warning the lot of you in this very forum a few years ago during that racial disparity thread in America Ymix started or collated.

I told you things were getting close to breaking down real bad with all this identity stuff.

Shoulda listened.

Maybe another type of social organization happening is more like a Charles Manson set-up.

And I don't mean that facetiously; though I certainly don't intend to imply the psychopathy and criminality of the example.

But it was a group of weirdos advocating alternative living with the hope of some apocalyptic scenario which would put them on top of the totem. And at its core is a charismatic leader capable enough of forming strong bonds communally but not socially with any sort of extension.

Meanwhile, they live off of periphery of a certain amount of patrons who are never exactly comfortable with them but will not cut them off.

And it isn't just leftists going with this model-- what else is this Richard Spencer character doing??

The one difference being that the weirdo Richard Spencers of the world have almost zero patrons of any serious means. There are no NGOs to support and propagate him, no elected officials who will invite them to his office and push for his platform, no celebrities ready to write big checks to him and spread his message in media.

for aslong as their are multiple alt groups then the muddling middle globalist technocrats will continue to own the conversation as they do currently.

I've been on it for many years. When Democrats figured out they could get 90% black vote by keeping them poor it was at that point unavoidable.

Neoliberalism :
The idea that swallowed the world

In short, “neoliberalism” is not simply a name for pro-market policies, or for the compromises with finance capitalism made by failing social democratic parties. It is a name for a premise that, quietly, has come to regulate all we practise and believe: that competition is the only legitimate organising principle for human activity.

..

It isn’t only that the free market produces a tiny cadre of winners and an enormous army of losers – and the losers, looking for revenge, have turned to Brexit and Trump. There was, from the beginning, an inevitable relationship between the utopian ideal of the free market and the dystopian present in which we find ourselves; between the market as unique discloser of value and guardian of liberty, and our current descent into post-truth and illiberalism.

.

Interesting .. and .. true

I'm going to just say no. Everything will work out fine.

Soros can dress up his out-of-work klansman and ANTI-FA ANTI-First Amendment agitators and pay them to cause a fuss but people are seeing through this very quickly. American values provide a pretty good herd immunity, and the subterfuge is failing.

Sorry, no cultural revolution. All we will get is a little street theatre with some yahoos frustrated by their own impotence.

Après moi, le déluge.
Such wishful thinking is probably as old as humanity itself.

A civilizational crises, should one occur, certainly won't be caused by a handful of so-called neo Nazis marching with Tiki torches.

I'm triggered and offended by the cultural appropriation of the Tiki torch.
