lets not forget Russia has its own NATO - the CSTO.

Europes borders have ZERO interest in being more Russian.

Poor Russia, they struggle to keep it together, seems most of them dont trust each other enough to maintain cooperation.

Russia finds alternative to Siemens turbines

The Iranian turbines could potentially replace equipment produced by the German industrial giant, which halted operations in Russia last year due to sanctions.

yes, Iran is a full gloves off enemy of the west now.

before, their was a strong and growing sense that America and Israel where poisoning the Iranian discourse and their should be a change of tack.

not anymore, war is probably inevitable , glad im in the southern hemisphere.

Iran was always in Western culture and sphere .. Iranians (still) very West leaning.

But West did not treat Iran with respect .. West always wanted Iran as a "Client State", not realizing Iranian potential and Iran being a high civilization.

3 Times mad mullahs approached West for friendship .. all 3 times US told Iran to "f*ck off"

Unfortunately

IMHO still not late .. turn to EAST is confronting resistance from general public

Best way for West to gain back Iran again, is "unilaterally" cancelling all sanctions and restrictions against Iran, freeing all frozen Iranian asset and let Iran flourish and become successful .. in that case, Iranians would not feel anymore threatened and no need to team up with Russia and China. If so, first Iran would act "neutral" for a while (not siding with anybody), after some time, when Western good intention is established, Iran would join West

Some wonder why the nuke deal is stuck and no agreement possible

Reason is, West has new condition

Iran can sell oil, but the money must be in trust and spend only for this and that .. and sanction not full lifted .. and Iranian money frozen not returned fully .. and and and

West does not want a "strong and prosperous" Iran .. West wants a "client state Iran"

That is dead on arrival for Iranians

not going to happen.

we are an aggresive business driven people, whats good for big business is good for us - so we will always interact with the world via corporate intersts and not population interests.

competition to our corporate interest is always bad, always has been, always will be.

until we collapse and we become like the middle east, full of whinging tribes of losers complaining about our glory days and conspiracy.

not long now, wouldnt worry about it. relax.

Condoleezza Rice was asked "What does Iran want ?" .. she replied "Iran's price is too high"

well, 20 yrs ago, for Bush doing a deal with mad mullahs would be much cheaper then now

At that time, all the world was with West, against Iran.

Now, West is in minority .. Russia and China are with Iran, so Turkey, India, Latin America, Brazil, South Africa (and all Africa) etc etc.

Notion West can fix all this with a war, same mindset Brits had before the WW-2 .. result was Brits lost all (the empire)

This a new world now

if all those countries actually cooperate, instead of talking about cooperating, then they deserve it.

doesnt particularly bother me to be honest, im only cynical because I cant really see India and China agreeing on which of the 2 should be in charge ;)

I think they both benefit from being non aligned and prefer the status quo of doing what they like without asking for permission from eachother.

North South route can not be touch by any power and dramatically shortens the route for Russian exports

Iran now KEY for Russia

Similar situation exists for China .. China's land route exports to Europe must pass through Iran

Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.

the copium of 5d chess claims from both sides of this are impossible to believe - a more mundane hail mary from wagner to avoid being absorbed by the russian army is perhaps the most convincing argument.

Here's a dopey, speculative question:

How much Russian losing can the CCP tolerate before freaking out?

I imagine it's a whole lot- much, much, much more than anything foreseeable coming out of this war.

---------

I guess what I'm getting at is: Is Russia the most vulnerable appendage of China?
