I wish I could find the Spike Milligan skit on loving the rules about standing up for the queen, paraphrasing my memory of it - its not about the queen, its about getting permission to hit the guy that didnt stand up.
Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test.

Most men can endure adversity. But if you wish to know a man's true character, give him power. This is the supreme test.

As pointed out to me, the heart of all this sort of porn is that there is a definitive order and contract everyone adheres to. Unlike bodice rippers of the past where so-and-so swoops in and disturbs the order of things; every character is more legally bound to social expectations than the characters in a Nathaniel Hawthrone novel. Sure, all sorts of perversions are laid on top and people are made to suffer...but contractually so, so it's all dangerous but safe.

So the lusty part is the contract...in generations past, that might have been acted out under something called marriage- but everyone knows only the rich, gays and muslims do that nowadays.

Its definately true for my life experience - their have been a few folks Ive known that it was almost dangerous for them to have confidence and power - insecurity and irrelevance was the limit of their personality type.

orderly systems that promise control, the very things needed for a paranoid existential fear or constant uncertainty in changing rules.

Your claim is Trumped by the two old quotes:

The list of moderators banned from Stack Exchange (open source questions forum) is getting quite long - most for throught crime against diversity apparently.

https://meta.stackexchange.com/question ... -in-cooper

the highest profile one was because she dared ask the question if it was ok to use non gendered terms in situations you didnt know the persons prefered gender terms - apparently that is still a mis gendering crime!
Stack Overflow Inc. suddenly revoked my moderator status on all sites where I had it. I found this out while handling flags, when I suddenly got notifications for Marshal and Deputy badges (which moderators are ineligible to earn). They did this not because I've done anything to violate SE policies (which I have not done), but because they think I will in the future violate a thoughtcrime-style provision of a Code of Conduct change that hasn't been made yet.
I think its best to just head on out the other side of these arguments and call everyone a c*nt - the few folks that arent offended are the ones to hang out with.

As the ORZ saying goes "F**k em if they can't take a joke!" Assuming a god like tolerance for support of diversity is a tough assignment. cause if you can't discern the right kind of diversity from the wrong kind of diversity, your woke creds become questionable.

No one likes people who tolerate intolerance!

Neat take on Groucho's statement "I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member!" Apparently, the wokesters don't want anyone like them as a member of their club.

I've yet to access social media.... Cancel Culture as a simplistic extremist practice!

kaboo, bam, pow - all these moral crusading, cancelling organisations have now done a 360 reverse flip with triple twisting schaudenfraude.

espn and the NBA . https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/in ... li=BBnb4R5
If you watched ESPN yesterday, you saw the network repeatedly attempt to grapple with the story of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey creating an international incident after tweeting and then deleting his support for pro-democracy protestors in Hong Kong. You heard talking head after talking head castigate Morey for sending the tweet, speculation over whether he’d keep his job, speculation about the sincerity of his convictions, discussions about what this meant for the Rockets’ bottom line, the observation that it’s unreasonable to expect for-profit companies like the NBA to act morally, and the non-take that cowing to China is simply the cost of doing business in China.

EA and Blizzard https://www.businessinsider.com.au/bliz ... ?r=US&IR=T

California-based game company Blizzard bans pro esports player and confiscates his prize money after he voices support for Hong Kong protesters
and also South Park but they went double hard in the other direction.

How bizarre.

The coding part of StackExchange, StackOverflow | https://stackoverflow.com, is a very useful site.
Would a shame if it fell apart due to the useless cancel culture mob.

One can see that he was in part the inspiration for Monty Python.

His memoirs of his experience as a WWII gunner, a trilogy in four parts, are a brilliant read.
"I have described nothing but what I saw myself, or learned from others of whom I made the most careful and particular enquiry.

~ Thucydides. Peloponnesian War.

"I've just jazzed mine up a little."

~ Milligan. World War II."
I recall from memory that he organized a reunion with the opposing German gunners and wrote that his most treasured possession was a menu from the dinner inscribed by one of the Germans veterans, "Dear Spike, I'm sorry that I missed you on [date of military engagement], Best wishes, Hans."

A new hope that Cancel Culture will be Cancelled. Who believes Hillary will be cancelled now that she has announced she running for "re-election" as POTUS, because she is a woman?

Ronan Farrow says Harvey Weinstein used his relationship with Hillary Clinton to try to kill his exposé about the now-disgraced movie producer

Over the edge or no?........
Russ McKamey is famous for terrorizing people at his two extreme experiences, one of which is in his primary residence, called McKamey Manor. McKamey now finds himself the target of a petition with over sixty thousand signatures to shut his haunt down. Strangely, he doesn't make any money on his project, but appears to just use it to film people being terrorized. He was featured in a Netflix documentary called Haunters, where he laughs gleefully telling the story about how he lied to a neighbor to get her into his haunt several times and then wouldn't let her out when she begged and pleaded. He said he did it for the footage of her terror. His wife reports that he sits in his room all day watching the videos of people screaming while they are shut into coffins, taped, bound and gagged, almost drowned, and subjected to other horrors. McKamey admits that people have been hurt in his house, experiencing at least one heart attack, panic attacks, cuts, bruises, and psychological damage.
