Will probably be dismissed as "old man yelling at bushes" by the urban chattering classes, however, another take on life in an arid land.

In so much as some of it was fixable, its certainly the fault of local councils and their burning policies or lack of funding for it.

Decade long droughts and rainforests on fire is beyond the scope of such things , its literally impossible to controlled burn all the areas involved in these fires, unless we all give up our regular jobs and become a nation of rural fire managers.

In many ways Its like complaining about Japan having earthquakes and finding someone to blame - its always been a very hot, dry place thats prone to catching on fire.

one of the old farmer poems (1900 ish) about covers it, in the sappy way of such things.

The first thing we need to know is, is the author white? That will "color" our perceptions of his observations.

Mother Nature is a bitch that don't care much about humans. If the prevailing ideology of caring is to leave Mother Nature to her own devices in the name of maintaining the purity of the environment, well, this is what she periodically does. Send me some money, and I get the data together for you.

Big firebreaks between nature and humanity might be the answer. No one can live or build within one mile of a tree or any vegetation.

Wow! That was easy.

We can't ignore that climate change is being used as a stalking horse by those that want to remake society and do so without engaging the people in discussion or even having their motives questioned. This doesn't explain ALL of the climate crisis debate or everyone in it, but it IS a thing and needs to be recognised and it's perfectly legitimate to shut the whole thing down until it is........

yeh its pretty amazing that the only solutions to climate change are the political desires of the groups that are most strident about it.

Even though Mother Nature serves up a Smorgasbord, some people are never satisfied..... Strayans get both adversity and diversity.

So you'll be seeing a lot of new growth green in the burnt out areas?
