In a very special #LwC, for one full hour, we sat down with Dr. Patrick Moore, PHD in Ecology and founder of Greenpeace, and dissected the scam that is modern "climate change".
I like the term Moore used: "natural climate change deniers"

Somehow reminds me of this:

"The media made them superstars"

Seconded. What I got from the video is that humans eating ice cream is causing AGW. And if Canada was serious about bringing in more refugees, they would be eating more ice cream to make their country more hospitable.

Here he goes again.

http://ijr.com/2017/05/867816-obama-use ... ge-speech/
Former President Barack Obama traveled to Italy this week to make a speech on climate change at the “Seed & Chips: The Global Food Innovation Summit” in the city of Milan.

It seems like Obama has taken a page out of Leonardo DiCaprio's book of “do as I say, not as I do” and took a private jet to Milan. Not only that, he had a 14 car convoy to get into the city, which also included protection from above with a helicopter.

It doesn't end there. According to The Daily Mail, 300 police officers were used to protect the former president.

It's sad when dementia strikes once-famous scientists. What a rambling and incoherent mess. "Look out the window and you don't see a lot of CO2 but you see clouds." Oh, boy. Ivar can't see CO2 so it must not matter. "(Nobel laureate) Steven Chu is a smart guy... but he's been bought off by global warming." Uh huh. Sure. All those climatologists have been bought off thanks to the deep pockets of... err, who, exactly?

So it's on the order of a well-capitalized Silicon Valley startup? That's nothing. There are virtually no climatologists working for the private sector.

Anyway, this is fake news. There is no "MMGW industry". Alternative energy has been around for decades and was originally driven by our desire not to live in polluted hellscapes beholden to foreign interests and the nefarious private companies that deal in nonrenewable fuel sources.

$2 billion buys a lot of "scientists". Anyway, in real news Obama flew across the world to tell everyone to stop flying around the world.

Industry in the general sense.

Image

$2 billion per year of taxpayer funded research grants doled out.

No govt grants → no research industry.

Deviate from the orthodox dogma → grants cut off.

[By comparison, the entire US Nat Sci Foundation budget is about $7 billion per year and the entire US Nat Inst Health budget is about $30 billion per year.]

Never has so much been spent by so many on so few for so little.

See above.

Following this line of argument, the US today should be a "hellscape":

It clearly is not.

Despite massive subsidies solar and wind are a drop in the ocean.

Fracking has effectively made the US energy independent. Solar and wind have contributed bupkes.

Looks like I was way way off.

http://www.gao.gov/key_issues/climate_c ... ue_summary
Federal funding for climate change research, technology, international assistance, and adaptation has increased from $2.4 billion in 1993 to $11.6 billion in 2014, with an additional $26.1 billion for climate change programs and activities provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009.
What in the heck do they spend all that money on.

A paper by Santer et al. has been making the MSM rounds.

Reason | Scott Pruitt Refuted on 'Leveling Off' of Global Temperature Trends?

Spencer | Santer takes on Pruitt: The Global Warming Pause and the Devolution of Climate Science

That Nature Climate which claims to be a scientific journal would rush to discredit the statement by a government bureaucrat is remarkable.

not sure if this belongs here or in the evolution thread.

AGW is obviously affecting water fowl in Canada.

Typhoon, thanks for posting. Experts arguing over temperature measurement accuracies of 0.0N degrees C? Then fudging the data by 0.N degrees C? Amazing that anyone thinks climate scientists have any credibility. A genuine religious belief.

"Climate scientists" are doing for the credibility of science what pedophile Catholic priests did for the Catholic Church.

BBC | US quits Paris climate pact

I've read claims that the US cannot exit until 2020, the hope being that there will be a new POTUS by then.

However, my US Civics 101 understanding is that the US does not recognize any treaty as binding until it has been ratified by the US Congress.

I sent him an email and thanked him "yugely!"

In response to criticism, Trump should reply: "Putin told me to pull out of the Paris Agreement!"

I'll have to send him another email....
