Thank you Very Much for your post, Azari.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Reminds me a bit of the Islamist goons of the Middle East such as the Muslim Brotherhood and the wannabe religious policemen seen in Egypt and the Ayatollah Khomenei and his Green Book which I have read.........

Somehow Mubarak doesn't seem that bad by comparison..........

To be fair Wilsonian Uz can be that way too ... George W.W. ...... Bush... Trying to teach Democracy to people who really do not want it that much......

Perhaps it would have been much better if our goal in Afghanistan had been simply to kill Osama and his Al Queda buddies, thoroughly trash the Taliban and all its works/infrastructure for harboring them and not handing them over.......... And then leave.....

What will happen to Mubarak?

Would the Egyptian military follow the dictates of the Muslim Brotherhood?

All other questions seem secondary.

It may be better for Egyptian democracy if Shafik wins. If Morsi wins, most likely the Muslim brotherhood would cut a deal with the military and the revolution would be over.

Morsi represent faction that west installing in Libya, Tunis, trying to instal in Syria and and .. CIA groomed, Wahhabi bankrolled, special agents on a mission to fool Arab mass for another generation or two

Neither Shafig nor Morsi will succeed in long term .. they both Western cronies

Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei only genuine chance Arabs have

But

West does not want Arab resurrection

West wants Arab subservient .. Sheiks

Azari (did not watch the video), have to admit, every time I think I have grasped the phenomenal jew brain they go and outdo themselves. I think right now the jews are just toying with the ME, causing Arab Spring/Nightmare as a simple simulation, a stretching of the legs. An exercise. How they do it, and do it so well, over my little head. That is why they are in charge and not me. I will do what they ask of me though. Amazing how quick they adapt and then outperform. They learn so quickly. Amazing people.

Yes, the Sheiks have certainly been profitable for western fat cats. Notice the silence over the slaughter of nonviolent pro democracy protestors in Bahrain. They don't really want democracy.

Thank you Very Much for your post, Hans.

What I would tell them at this point is to leave Crazyland a.k.a. the Middle East if you can.....

And leave behind what makes Crazyland Crazyland....

Food recipes are fine........ Qutb not so much........

FWIW the clips look unpleasant....

First one reminded me a bit of Rodney King.....though Rodney.... never mind....

The second one strangely reminded me of the gravity boots some people use to relax here...... and on occasion die in......... a case I saw on "1000 Ways to Die".......

My impression is that Mubarak was largely a nationalist robber baron who really didn't care that much unless you messed with him or got in his way.....*

And that what did in Mubarak was the damned food speculators on Wall Street so that he couldn't buy off the Arab Street anymore with cheap food......... Still remember seeing an Egyptian farmer feeding Uz subsidized bread to goats decades ago.....

Mubarak was NOT a nice guy but AFAIK IMVHO not a control freak like the fanatic Islamic types are......

You know, things like saying you can't escape from a fire unless you are properly dressed....

AIUI just like in "Don't Get Fooled Again", the beards (and prayer bruises) have grown longer overnight.......... At 4:36..................

u4rMNCLjrv4

Actually the New Boss is likely to be worse than the Old Boss..........

FWIW, I could use some context on the video clips....... I google translated the Arabic notes from the 2nd one with this result.....

Now Morsy has won, but if the military respects the result of the election and relinquishes power then what is that but democracy? And if they don't then what is that but the denial of democracy, which will in turn mean the extension of the revolution?

The real test is always succession. Assuming Morsy has some powers, and the new parliament gets to draft some kind of constitution, the test will be, as it always is, whether or not that constitution would be observed, and if Morsy accepts defeat in subsequent open elections allowing the change of power along with electoral will that is essential in a democracy.

But the mere fact of the Muslim Brotherhood's existence doesn't really have anything to do with the electoral process or democracy.

What do you mean by this vague claim, Milo? One would almost think that you avoid making specific statements as much as you can, because when you do make specific claims they tend to be embarrassingly wrong.
