Fascinating tale, with lots of historical background on Eastern Russia and man's historical relationship with the big cats. Seems to be evidence of a reciprocal relationship between man and big cats. Big cats did the hunting and killing and then generously shared the meat with our human ancestors. Perhaps the reason for man's fascination and reverence of cats.

One of our three cats uses the doggie door to let herself in and out as she pleases. This is probably in violation of some aspect of the Dogs' religion, but she does not seem to give a damn about the belief system of the dogs.

The other two cats seem to think walking thru a doggie door is beneath their dignity, and violates the high standards of the cat religious code. So they sit by the door and wait for their human servants, my wife or I, to let them out.

I'm not sure which cat is smartest, or which are going to Kitty hell after their nine lives here on Earth.
