I don't think I know enough historical and cultural context to get this one.
Would you please elaborate.
"Band of Brothers" was a television miniseries based off a non-fiction book whose premise was dramatizing real stories, based off of letters and diary entries, of members from the 101 Airbone Division's Easy Company during World War 2.
I've never seen it (nor read the book) so I can't say how much license it takes; but it was so popular in part because of its 'realism' that it still is a bench mark for tv dramas about war.
The blurb is a thing of beauty. Whoever wrote it really wants the audience to know that this new tv show is breaking young hollywood stars left and right -- this is the important information.
The aside is that there was this thing called World War 2, which took place in a marvel/dc cinematic type universe called the "band of brothers universe," that these young stars are playing around in.

I think the writer wished to say that this new series about WWII pilots is dramatically comparable to or takes place at the same time as the older series but ends up making the whole thing sound like another hollywood cartoon product.
