Now that is amusing.Mr. Perfect wrote:Actually CS if you were to read what I write, engage in critical thinking rather than rely on stereotypes and movies you will see that I don't think there are that many differences between Europeans and Americans. Some people don't want to live as breathing lavender machines with their ass being wiped and a tube shoved down their throat. But yeah, I bet its actually all about the bill.Mr. Perfect wrote:Nah, just been around longer and more observant. Eg I remember when politicians used to sell ponzi schemes on how bulletproof and caretaking they were, now doing your duty is submitting to an accelerated death. And you're right money has nothing to do with this.
In Politistan where you ilve, I am sure, everything is all about these metrics. That is the only reason that you central planners can possibly think of as to why people behave, well, why they behave at all. It's all driven by money. Yup.
Men often oppose a thing merely because they have had no agency in planning it, or because it may have been planned by those whom they dislike.

Well sure, it just took until 2012 until people realized that youth needed an opportunity to be dispatched in addition to Parkinson's people who obviously wouldn't want to live any longer, and of course it took until 2012 before humanity became enlightened enough to realize that terminal patients are pining for an accelerated death. Heck, being born is a terminal condition, you only get 70 some years in most cases, let's let everyone join in the fun! As a pro lifer I am willing to compromise though, I say I will agree to government fund self snuffers of all physical conditions as long as only liberals/leftists/progressives get approved. I think that is a compromise we can all "live " with.
I'm going into the pine box industry, the new MIC. Lots of folks to put in the ground.

Mr. P's argument is as simple as it is foolish: government bad, private sector good.
I realize that this isn't really what is happening here (they're just providing sensible options for terminal care) but the 'bait and switch' being alleged is standard practice in any market, private or public. Insurers will raise premiums without warning and deny treatments at will. Good luck getting a doctor to quote you in advance for his services. Just as one theoretically has the 'choice' to drop insurance coverage in a private system and seek it elsewhere, or go to a different doctor, one can choose to do the same thing if socialized health care is deemed inadequate. Mr. P's argument is completely invalid because the alternative is identical. In fact, I can guarantee you that Mr. P cannot prove otherwise. He won't even try.

Sure, the self snuffing options available under private insurance are overwhelming. You're really on a roll here Zack Morris.

There's no need for self-snuffing on life insurance: they make sure to snuff you out. Ain't no money to be made paying out claims.
