Druze citizens are prominent in the Israel Defense Forces and in politics. The bond between Jewish and Druze soldiers is commonly known by the term "a covenant of blood" (Hebrew: ברית דמים, brit damim).[7]
A Druze politician, Majalli Wahabi, served as the acting President of Israel in February 2007. Five Druze lawmakers were elected to serve in the 18th Knesset, a disproportionately large number considering their population.[8] Reda Mansour a Druze poet, historian and diplomat, explained: "We are the only non-Jewish minority that is drafted into the military, and we have an even higher percentage in the combat units and as officers than the Jewish members themselves. So we are considered a very nationalistic, patriotic community."[9]

Thanks for the post iBS.
Bit like "loyal" Sikhs helping th British kill their Hindu and Muslim countrymen during the Indian Mutiny.
Given their history of persecution by Hindus and especially Muslim Killer Klown Kings like Aurangzeb, I don't see much reason the Sikhs should have supported the rebels over the Brits.....
Bit like asking Tlaxcalans to support Aztecs against the Spanish.........

Nonsense.
We keep hearing about the big bad Mooslim boogie man yet all of these ethnicities continue to live in Arab lands where they originated.
Lets see, between the Chinese to the East, and the West in general, Muslims can't even begin to hold a candle to the deaths perpetuated by the two.

[57] European colonization of the Americas Americas 1492 1900 Although heavily disputed,[58] some historians such as David Stannard and Howard Zinn consider the deaths caused by disease, displacement, and conquest of Native American populations during European settlement of North and South America as constituting an act of genocide (or series of genocides). The alleged genocidal aspects of this event are entwined with loss of life caused by the lack of immunity of Native Americans to diseases carried by European settlers (see Population history of American indigenous peoples).[59][60] Some estimates indicate case fatality rates of 80–90% in Native American populations during smallpox epidemics.[61] According to Noble David Cook, "There were too few Spaniards to have killed the millions who were reported to have died in the first century after Old and New World contact."[62] Stafford Poole wrote: "There are other terms to describe what happened in the Western Hemisphere, but genocide is not one of them. It is a good propaganda term in an age where slogans and shouting have replaced reflection and learning ..."[63]

Jews and Christians in Persia and Jews and Monophysites in Syria were dissatisfied and sometimes even welcomed the Muslim forces, largely because of religious conflict in both empires.[3] In the case of Byzantine Egypt, Palestine and Syria, these lands had only a few years before being reacquired from the Pomegranates, and had not been ruled by the Byzantines for over 25 years

Ira Lapidus distinguishes between two separate strands of converts of the time: one is animists and polytheists of tribal societies of the Arabian peninsula and the Fertile crescent; the other one is the monotheistic populations of the Middle Eastern agrarian and urbanized societies.[5]
Islam was introduced in Somalia in the 7th century when the Muslim Arabs fled from the persuction of the Pagan Quraysh tribe. When the Muslims defeated the Pagans, some returned to Arabia, but many decided to stay there and established Muslim communities along the Somali coastline. The local Somalis adopted the Islamic faith well before the faith even took root in its place of origin.[6]
For the polytheistic and pagan societies, apart from the religious and spiritual reasons each individual may have had, conversion to Islam "represented the response of a tribal, pastoral population to the need for a larger framework for political and economic integration, a more stable state, and a more imaginative and encompassing moral vision to cope with the problems of a tumultuous society."[5] In contrast, for sedentary and often already monotheistic societies, "Islam was substituted for a Byzantine or Sassanian political identity and for a Christian, Jewish or Zoroastrian religious affiliation."[5] Conversion initially was neither required nor necessarily wished for: "(The Arab conquerors) did not require the conversion as much as the subordination of non-Muslim peoples. At the outset, they were hostile to conversions because new Muslims diluted the economic and status advantages of the Arabs."[5]
Only in subsequent centuries, with the development of the religious doctrine of Islam and with that the understanding of the Muslim ummah, did mass conversion take place. The new understanding by the religious and political leadership in many cases led to a weakening or breakdown of the social and religious structures of parallel religious communities such as Christians and Jews.[5]
The caliphs of the Umayyad dynasty established the first schools inside the empire, called madrasas, which taught the Arabic language and Islamic studies. They furthermore began the ambitious project of building mosques across the empire, many of which remain today as the most magnificent mosques in the Islamic world, such as the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. At the end of the Umayyad period, less than 10% of the people in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia and Spain were Muslim. Only on the Arabian peninsula was the proportion of Muslims among the population higher than this.[7]
American historian Ira Lapidus points towards "interwoven terms of political and economic benefits and of a sophisticated culture and religion" as appealing to the masses.[8] He writes that :
"The question of why people convert to Islam has always generated intense feeling. Earlier generations of European scholars believed that conversions to Islam were made at the point of the sword, and that conquered peoples were given the choice of conversion or death. It is now apparent that conversion by force, while not unknown in Muslim countries, was, in fact, rare. Muslim conquerors ordinarily wished to dominate rather than convert, and most conversions to Islam were voluntary. (...) In most cases worldly and spiritual motives for conversion blended together. Moreover, conversion to Islam did not necessarily imply a complete turning from an old to a totally new life. While it entailed the acceptance of new religious beliefs and membership in a new religious community, most converts retained a deep attachment to the cultures and communities from which they came."[8]
The result of this, he points out, can be seen in the diversity of Muslim societies today, with varying manifestations and practices of Islam.
Thank you very much for your post, Hans.
We keep hearing about the big bad Mooslim boogie man yet all of these ethnicities continue to live in Arab lands where they originated.
IIRC there are no Jews in Saudi Arabia where they once lived.........
Othewise, non Muslims in Muslim lands have traditionally been ground down by persecution and traditionally nasty disabilities, including a worse than the Mafia protection racket, to convert or escape if they can. Over time the numbers drop unless the non-Muslims are able to effectively resist as they did in Spain and India with honors going to the Sikhs who learned that being armed is better than being a peace movement when dealing with Muslim fanatics like Aurangzeb.
Lets see, between the Chinese to the East, and the West in general, Muslims can't even begin to hold a candle to the deaths perpetuated by the two.
Muslims are not as bad as Nazis if for no other reason, conversion is USUALLY* honored. One is allowed to become a fellow Monster
Offhand I'd rate Islam about the same as strict Bolshevik Communists: What matters is the Meme/what you believe, which can be changed, rather than the gene which historically cannot be changed except over generations though that is changing with Biotech.......
Also like the Bolsheviks, with Muslims it can bes VERY important to be in the dominant sect and follow the dominant imam such as Stalin/Sunni over Trotsky/Shia etc...
I recall reading a figure of 60-80 million deaths in the Muslim Invasion of the Indian Sub-Continent and have posted this before with a link IIRC.....
Lets not forget the centuries long Muslim slaving operation in the Mediterranean, North Atlantic and Africa........ Millions of victims.......
Granted that the Euroz
and even Uz
did slaving in Africa too
but especially the Brits abolished slavery quite a bit earlier than the "Mooslim"
culture allegedly did....
Here in America we still occasionally catch Muslim perps holding slaves in the the U.S........ Link below to a report from just a few days ago.......
