It's Microsoft, see aboves, and British PsiQuantum the US Govt wants to do its bets (bits) on. Hundreds of millions will be invested in their technogies and hopefully one of them will pull it all off.
As a skeptic I hope to be proven wrong, because it will reveal that the ontologies of physical superposition were correct after all and that computation now really enters a new era, where spooky quantum action at any distance may still be spooky, but nonetheless a huge computation speed gained.
In the mean time, none of these technologies are even close to that final step of empirical proof of concept. A big short might still be on its way, if my bet is right. Time to buy some shares?
