Too many candidates from the same families.
The reason for that is the two families have both built up sizable campaign machines with big money donors. Notice how anyone on the outside, that does not tow the line, gets trashed by the press? Now Obama has his own machine as well.
How does this theory account for the current HC e-mail controversy? Even the NYT mentioned it.

Nobody likes the Clintons and they have a long history of being secretive and flaunting the rules. IF you have watched House of Cards at all Congressman Underwood and his wife are modeled on the Clintons But of course the producers of the series toned it down for TV. AS for the email scandal just watch it will go away. Just like all the other scandals did. I actually know someone that was part of the Clinton White water investigation The person cannot say any details as they are legally prevented from doing so. All the person says is there was a lot more to the story than was told to the public.

But you might note that anyone that comes out against the Clintons ends up getting trashed. The only person that was vindicated in the earliest Clinton scandals was Gennifer Flowers. Clinton was force under oath to admit he had an affair with her after previously saying he did not. Which is why he was stripped of a license to practice law. Even lawyers apparently consider lying under oath a serious matter. But my guess is you never heard that Clinton lost his law license. Very few have.

Oh one other thing. When Clinton was president and after he took money from the Chinese Government he told American defense contractor to help the Chinese figure out why all their missiles were exploding before they got to orbit. Now it turns out Hillary was accepting donations from foreign governments while she was Sec of State. Some are not even covered by the loose agreement she made with the Obama Admin before becoming Sec of State

In Miami, Bill Clinton defends foreign donations to Clinton Foundation

Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton speaks at a university conference sponsored by their Clinton Global Initiative at the University of Miami, Saturday, March 7, 2015, in Coral Gables, Fla.

Hillary Clinton avoided talking politics Saturday in Coral Gables. She left that to her husband.

Speaking to students at the University of Miami, the former secretary of state did not make a single mention of her likely presidential candidacy or the controversies that have recently surrounded it. But taking the stage after her, ex-President Bill Clinton addressed one of them for the first time.

The former president defended the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation for its acceptance of millions of dollars in donations from foreign governments, including during his wife’s State Department tenure.

“I believe they do a lot more good than harm,” he said, acknowledging donations from other countries, including some in the Middle East.

“The U.A.E. gave us money,” he said, referring to the United Arab Emirates. “Do we agree with everything they do? No, but they help us fight ISIS,” referring to the so-called Islamic State.

He characterized the donations as coming from “friends” that had previously contributed to the foundation and were allowed to keep doing so under a 2008 ethics agreement with the Obama administration. But that was not the case with a $500,000 contribution from the Algerian government.

Is Hillary ineligible?

Hillary Is Ineligible to Run for President!
Al Ritter

I always thought that international donations to the Clinton Foundation while Hillary was Secretary of State would be the biggest thing that would sink her. Of course there is a huge difference in Hillary Clinton going to jail, and Hillary being denied the office of President. I can already see the cynical, disbelieving look in your face, but humor me for a little bit and I’ll tell you how America can deny her that highest office in the nation!

Hillary’s obvious arrogance over her emailgate has led her to a false sense of security. Her secure feeling of arrogance is based around the idea that Eric Holder, or Loretta Lynch would never try her for her crime of destroying her all her email records. She is probably correct in that assumption, but there are other ways to skin this cat!

Hillary has violated U.S. Federal code: 18 U.S. Code § 2071 - Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally. This is the exact wording of this law:

“(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Pay close attention to the wording underlined especially “and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.”

You ask…..”What good is this if she won’t be prosecuted by the DOJ?”

This is where state’s rights come into play. Each State has to certify and approve a candidate to run in their state and be placed on the ballot. Are you following me so far? If just two or three Republican Governors pushed their attorney generals to deny the certification based on the violation of this federal law, then Hillary would be forced into defensive mode rather than thumbing her nose at the entire country for her obvious arrogance. The states could enforce federal law without even involving the DOJ. The courts could be forced into constant appeal processes until the time constraints could make her run irrelevant. Only two or three states denying her certification would sink ANY chances of her winning.

Jail time could wait until the new Administration takes charge and pushes their own Attorney General to prosecute her.

The law is irrefutable in its meaning and very explicit in its punishment, so I don’t think she could battle this very successfully.

I LOVE it when a plan comes together!..........Mail this to your Republican Governor!

I'm not a lawyer but this doesn't sound remotely plausible. My educated guess is that the certification process is largely a bureaucratic procedure and that state attorney generals are in no position to play Federal prosector, judge, and jury against Mrs. Clinton, who has not been accused of committing any crime. The scenario laid out in this article would simply never happen. The outrage over Republican states trying to block a candidate (let alone the first viable female candidate) from running in a Federal election through underhanded legal tactics would dwarf the email issue.

I suppose It all depends of the statue of limitations and whether or Not Hillary gets elected. Either it does not matter what laws Hillary broke or it does matter. The Obama admin is probably not willing to charge Hillary if nothing else for the bad blood that would generate. But they don't seem to be very pleased about what has transpired. Unless of course Warren decided to run. Hillary if she had to run today for Pouts would lose. This scandal has pushed her numbers down in the swing states to where her negatives are bigger than her positive numbers

Kind of early to make that assumption.

At least this is her last campaign. And Chelsea doesn't strike me as able to pick up the Clinton banner.

I agree. Chelsea doesn't seem interested in running for President, ever. I guess the attacks the right wingers made on her when she was a girl turned her off to it.

I don't know about attacks, but she's too soft and doesn't even try to charm people. Or maybe she is trying and not getting anywhere with it.

Hillary is a Democratic John McCain. We need a younger president with a stake in the future, not an old timer trying to cash in on their past.

This idea that the Presidential nomination is a reward for decades of party loyalty is abhorrent.

Agreed. And well stated.

She is also a John Kerry, Mitt Romney, Al Gore, Bob Dole, George H.W. Bush, Walter Mondale, Jimmy Carter, etc.

Think back to every election since Carter-Reagan (or farther is you are older), the more robotic of the two candidates always loses.

Merikans vote for cool, hip candidates.

GW Bush vs. Al Gore, boy that was the battle of the non-personality droids, wasn't it?

Hillary Clinton is a vindictive, dishonest, warmongering incompetent.

Highly recommend the 3 part portrait by Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St. Clair in Counterpunch.

It is not pretty.

Read the article. This woman should not be president. In fact, she shouldn't hold any office.
