He’s not wrong, but the piece comes off as the viewpoint of a resentful white guy with mediocre talent.

The ability to earn a living just by using your mind is vanishing. Journalism, creativity, academia - all the status fields are commoditized.

The DEI absurdity is a symptom of overall social and financial degeneracy. The author can’t make a living writing long form content because long form content is no longer valued financially.

The market wants recycled, familiar content with a novel headline. Even that is being replaced by AI slop.

Talking about it at all is whiny. It comes with the territory. It also, going by the responses, encourages a lot of lousy thinking and resentment that I'd rather we'd not socially harbor.

So many different angles to it too.

But just as the baby boomers hated their parents, they hated their children even more and so much of this is 'personnel is policy'.

Someone else did point out that in all the interviews of the two floating around social media, he verbally dominates his son in a way his famous father never treated him in publicity interviews.
