Interesting how "ecologists" - CIA ecologists? - only seem to be concerned with this lake...YMix wrote:The Empire can easily occupy the new canal. Or make the Nicaraguan government deny passage to certain nations.

Reeaaally great idea.
Originally the US did not build a canal in Nicaragua because of all the vulcanosEndovelico wrote:Interesting how "ecologists" - CIA ecologists? - only seem to be concerned with this lake...YMix wrote:The Empire can easily occupy the new canal. The Panama canal is pretty much indefensible. It would only take three guys with the dynamite they could carry on their backs, to put it out of commission for two to three years.Heracleum Persicum wrote:.
Looks like Chinese are building the Canal
If so,
It is, am sure, Nicaragua will have some kind of special treaty with China for protection of the Canal
But
IMO
Nicaragua Canal is in benefit of US too, as it gives a 2nd venue in case Panama Canal is, for whatever reason, closed for
a period of time
Issues in the future will not be anymore military, but economy
Am sure China and America have discussed this and have found a common ground .. once construction begins, US will
announce it's approval am sure
.
thats the spirit endo, progress first what what, worried scientists are just spies for the other guy, we will make a good industrialist capitalist out of you yet.Endovelico wrote:Interesting how "ecologists" - CIA ecologists? - only seem to be concerned with this lake...YMix wrote:The Empire can easily occupy the new canal. I don't discount the possibility of CIA (or National Endowment for Democracy) funding for these protests, but that doesn't excuse the destruction.Endovelico wrote:Interesting how "ecologists" - CIA ecologists? - only seem to be concerned with this lake...
The US has in fact controlled the Panama Canal since the beginning, even if that control has not been used so far against any one country. A situation which could change in case of a wider conflict. Being able to disrupt an essential sea lane is strategically important. Two channels would make that a lot more difficult, and thus the Nicaragua Canal goes against US interests.noddy wrote:endo is seeing americans under his bed.
but i also observe that its exactly this kind of behaviour from china that you think justifies russia getting all aggresive at america.even if that control has not been used so far against any one country
I know the US should build a south China Sea canal by treaty with and between the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Taiwan giving it exclusive control for 50 years with an option for another 50 years.noddy wrote:interesting.

nice double standards.
