Federal government talking with Tomago smelter owners after closure warning

An Albanese government minister has weighed in on the future of Australia’s biggest aluminium smelter.

The deindustrialization of Australia continues as the political and chattering classes continue to believe that physical law can be circumvented by policy.

Aluminium smelters require continuous 24/7 electric power which intermittent wind and solar cannot provide on a large industrial scale, at least not in any way that makes economic sense.
