That he finished in the exact same spot as Bernie Sanders, 1 delegate behind the guys in front of them.
Yet, the headlines are, "Clinton wins by razor thin margin" and "Trump is soundly defeated by Cruz"
Half the 'Trump is a clown' stuff is a lot of worried people who make their living as professional consultants or media peoples who Trump just showed are not necessary to actually do any of these things.
Why else talk about "ground game" like it was a football or soccer match? There are a lot of people sweating out there that a Trump candidate will expose how useless they are, and how disgusted their cultivated uselessness is.
Joking aside, it is entirely possible that Trump may yet win the Republicrat nomination.
And yes, I'm loath to find myself laughing at the same thing as the talking head pundits and so-called think tanks policy wonks who support the Republicrat status quo.
The success to-date of the Trump and Sanders candidacies is a clear indication that many people in the US are thoroughly dissatisfied and disenchanted with the status quo of both parties. Understandable, as many in what was the middle class find themselves having been sold down the river.
However, Trump is typical of the narcissistic demagogues that appear during such time offering facile pseudo-solutions to a scared and gullible populace.
He's a multi-millionaire [which apparently makes him a billionaire in his own mind], so he must be knowledgeable, competent, and correct about everything is sadly all too typical of the naiveté one encounters from such people.
Sanders, unlike Trump, gives the impression is that he has a somewhat coherent platform, be it right or wrong.
May the gods preserve and defend me from self-righteous altruists; I can defend myself from my enemies and my friends.
