Trump, Quantum Mechanics, and the Great Political Wave Function
For years, political scientists have attempted to understand Donald Trump using conventional tools. Polling, psychology, economics, game theory, and astrology have all been tried. None have succeeded.
The mistake, perhaps, is that Trump is not a classical object at all.
Trump is a quantum phenomenon.
Like the famous Double-Slit Experiment, Trump appears to behave differently depending on whether he is being observed. When no one is looking, Trump exists as a probability wave spread across all possible positions simultaneously. Twenty-four hours later another observation is performed.
"We're considering all options."
A third observation:
"Actually, military action was always the plan."
The physicist is puzzled. The political analyst is exhausted. The quantum theorist simply nods knowingly.
The uncertainty principle applies perfectly. The more accurately one determines Trump's position on an issue, the less accurately one can determine his momentum.
Conversely, if one understands where Trump is heading, one can no longer know where he currently stands.
This explains why journalists frequently report contradictory statements. They are not contradictions. They are merely different measurements of the same quantum object.
The implications for quantum computing are profound.
For decades, researchers have struggled to keep qubits in a fragile coherent state. The slightest disturbance causes decoherence and the collapse of the quantum wave function.

We used to get hurricanes all the time. Big, powerful storms—beautiful storms, but they were a disaster. And you know why? Because they didn’t respect America, they thought we were weak. So I called NOAA and FEMA and said “we’re changing it to the Gulf of America, because these hurricanes have gotta stop pushing us around, it’s not good.” And the weather people said “sir, you can’t just change the name of an ocean, it won’t stop the hurricanes, they’re too strong!” But we changed the name and we got Tim Apple to change the maps and now we don’t have hurricanes anymore.
